from my experience, as long as it's warm out, weekends suck out there. as soon as it cools down a bit, that place is money.

ponte_06_x2 09-08-2008 3:29 PM

ksilva 09-08-2008 3:57 PM

Cool deal...Thanks guys... I don't tube! but my brothers kids do...lol

ksilva 09-16-2008 11:26 AM

Hey Guys, I went on Sunday to check it out... I will never do that again... I had jetski's following me while wakeboarding and one of them jumped my wake and landed on the shore... They were okay, but man... I like to play, but be safe at all times.... Anyways, I won't be going there again.. Unless if its during the weekday...

grant_west 09-16-2008 11:49 AM

I would say Tulloch is not a place you need to go to if all you wanna do is wakeboard. New Malonies and Don Pedro have so much more lake surface and no where near the people on it that you should be able to find better water there. Ill bet the people that jumped your wake on the Jet Ski's were renter's from the resort. Yea they are frustrating but so are all the other wallys on every other lake. Personally I love the place. But I use the lake pretty much on the off time's and hr's when I don't have to battle with every one else. I guess If I was forced board only on Sat and Sunday I would hate the place as well. You should come up on a week day you can have the place to your self.
P.S I swam Sat morning from about 9-10am No body out I was suprised to see the lake so dead on a Sat morning. The only people that passed me was Mike and Ashley. They know how and when to rock the place. Here is a crappy picture i took with my cell phone yesterday while chilling in the water. I love how clear and clean the water is. "G" I always go to Don Pedro, but wanted to check out Tulloch... I got on the water around 12, kicked it and then tried to board... It was kick back just checking out all the cool looking houses... The water was nice and clear... I liked that as well... The boat came out clean and not dirty....Anyways, I might try heading out there again on the weekdays if I can..... but I'm thinking Don Pedro is going to be my next visit if its on the weekend...

Ksilva: Were you there for the Malibu get together? (Boat Country) I had heard there was a scuffel at the Resort on Sat night? Didn't sound like a Boat Owners get together type of thing just wonderd if you were ther or saw the action.
LOL

wakeeater2003 09-16-2008 1:47 PM

Grant,
It was more like a thug get together. We were there for about five minutes before the fight broke out. At least the cops were already there from the first incident. I just can't understand why people can't party without trying to beat someone up.

grant_west 09-16-2008 2:02 PM

Question:I just can't understand why people can't party without trying to beat someone up
Answer: If you were a roach with no girl firend with no chance of getting laid you would be angry pissed off and wanting to kick some peoples ass's to.
Yea not to many more day's of the resort left that place will be shut down at the end of this month. Where will the Roach's go's? LOL Good riddance Roach's. Yea Mike I feel ya. I hate that crap. It sucks when you just wanna party and people show up to a party place and they are not there for the same reason as you. We are gonna have a get together end of the summer party. No Roach's allowed. Ill let ya know When /Where

trevorg7 09-16-2008 2:47 PM

FYI - Tulloch began to drop its water level on Sept 15th (as they do each year). Winter water level is about 10-15 feet lower than full (summer). Every 5 years they drop it even more for weed control and dam repair. I believe this is the 5th year.

Check out the water level before heading out.

T

grant_west 09-16-2008 3:53 PM

The draw down secedual say's the water is suposed to drop down a few feet starting on the 18th. It drops a few feet every other week or so Im not sure. It dosen't happen over night. We were using our ramp (Kiva) all year, last year. This year TRI DAM will lower the lake 15 feet or so lower than normal winter level for weed control. They were talking about doing this in the coldest months so the freeze could kill the exposed weeds. This will happen in Dec or Jan.
Yes normally they lower the lake lower than normal on the 5th year. This is the 4th year. We urged Tri Dam to lower the lake early this year because the lake weed is taking over sections of the lake. Aeras with low water flow and shallow aeras are effected more than others.
Trevor: Do you have a place at Tulloch? if So where are you at?

wakeeater2003 09-16-2008 4:06 PM

Probably one more week and I wont be able to ride the back 5 mile an hour area. We will have to see. Then I will be stuck with all the tubers in the open water, hopefully it will get cold fast and they will go away.

ksilva 09-16-2008 5:12 PM

I was not there for the Boat Country thing... I had couple other things going on this weekend... So does anyone know what really happen?

B.C.P...Mike - I was trying to ride all the way in the back past the houses for a lil bit, but there was like 4 boats in that small area... kinda sucked... so I stopped and just swam for awhile... Do you have a mastercraft?

rvh3 09-16-2008 7:06 PM

I was there in the bar when both fights broke out. It was a group of local hillbillies (my guess) that were there to get hammered and look for a fight. The first one spilled out onto the deck and the second one was inside the bar. Same group of hillbillies. That resort is the most mis-managed business this side of the Mississippi! They informed us the place will be demolished on Sept. 30th. And by the way, The Boat Country Party was well organized and looked like fun!

trevorg7 09-16-2008 9:02 PM

G - Thanks for the clarification. The weeds were getting out of control this summer but I didn't realize it was only the 4th year. We do not own there yet; we are currently looking a properties however. We rent in the Poker Flat each summer and make the drive about 2 weekends per month the rest of the time. That said we don't make it up much in the winter. I believe the place is usable other than the major drain in Dec/Jan

Is Kiva a public ramp? Rod is right, the resort is being demolished for a private condo type place.

I'll keep my eyes open for you next time and say hello.

T

grant_west 09-16-2008 10:22 PM

Yes the resort is slated to be demolished and high end condo's built in its place. The Hotel is on a skeleton crew. It's to bad to see the place go. We have had some great times there over the years. But let me say this, after seeing first hand the type of crap that people pull it makes me wonder why anyone would ever put there neck out and own such a place. People can be sutch f"ing jack A$$es and take advantage in every way it's just sad. It's ironic some of the local people so vocal about the resort going I have personally seen out of control fighting & being drunk as hell causing problems. Yea that's a great way to support the resort and show them they are wrong for tearing it down. People showing up with there own booze and then getting pissed at you when you tell them they can't drink it on hotel property. How dare you tell me I can't bring my own booze to a bar and party at your resort for free LOL. Im not saying that's the reason the place is going "by by" but with thoes types of action you cant help but say Hasta La Vista baby.
Trevor yea if you see me be sure to say Hi I will keep a eye out 4 you as well.

rvh3 09-17-2008 6:19 AM

Grant,
I agree with you 100%. But, the resort created this problem. We have been going there for the last four years at the same time in Sept. The first year we had to make a few trips to town to get food and drinks. The restaurant and bar open and close at any given time which makes it necessary to bring your own food and drinks.

wakeeater2003 09-17-2008 8:25 AM

Ksilva,
That is where I ride, but I ride there early in the morning or late at night. I ride into the five mile an hour zone all the way in back but I never ride on tulloch mid day unless it is winter time. I own a red mastercraft X2.

I think the main problem with the bar is that people just get too wasted there. I don't understand why people can't just have a good time and keep it under control but we were there the weekend before and there was a cowboy wedding, and I knew that it was time to get the hell out there. THe next day I heard some people I knew gotten beaten up. Just stupid •••••

grant_west 09-17-2008 8:56 AM

Rod: The restraunt is run and operated by Steve Amadoza. He just rent's the restraunt space. The hotel has noting to do with the restraunt. Yea I agree the hrs that the place is open are kind of off the wall. It seems at times when the place should be open its closed? I don't understand it either. But yea I feel ya I would love it if the place made enough money that it made sence to keep it open. How long would any of us own or hold onto somthing that lost money every month and was a pain in the a$$ to run. The restraunt when it's open Make's a AWESOME burger. I will miss them.
Mike: yea the Cowboy wedding was weird. We hooked up with some cool people on Sunday they were at the Wedding and they got a beat down. I wasnt there so I dont know if they deserved it or not. LOL. You would think a wedding party could or would keep things under control. But that just go's to show you trouble can flare up at any time.
That being said the BUMPparty was pretty drama free. All the people partying all day long and no drama. Yea One local got thrown out on his ass but for as many people and all the drinking it was drama free. I guess it go's to show you there are people that know how to rock it with out B.S thank god. O well what will we have to look forward to if we cant complain about the Bar or Hotel????
Hummm there is always the Tubers and Jet Ski's.

nar722 09-17-2008 12:01 PM

I started going to that resort in 2000. Back then, the restaurant was full service and the food was pretty darn good. It even had a surprising wine list. It seemed like a good family oriented resort back then. We used to run to the restaurant at 8:45 after some killer sunset runs. Similar drill in the morning. 7:30 to 9:30 runs, then grab some breakfast when everyone started to head out onto the water. Over the years, it took on more of a party atmosphere. We stopped going there over 4th of July and labor day because of too many drunks. Went back there in August for nostalgia sake. Even that great burger that "G" mentioned wasn't quite the same. I'll miss the "old" resort. Not very many lakeside motels anymore. Even Berryessa looks like it is in jeopardy.

rvh3 09-17-2008 6:37 PM

Yah,
We went into the restaurant last Friday night at 8:18, and they informed us that they closed "20 minutes ago". That's why you bring your own food and booze to the "frat party hotel". Great location, terrible management, from the front desk to the restaurant.
