We are going to keep the X-1 in a slip this summer, and I am looking for some advice on what to do/expect. I already know to take the boat out of the water every couple of weeks for a through cleaning (especially since it's a black hull). But how are you all tying up? Should I pick up bumpers and tie them to the dock and leave them there all the time? I am not at all familiar with docking ski boats as this is our first one.

Thanks for any of your help or information on your past experiences.

We have a black boat and keep it in a slip all summer long. I know, it’s really bad for the gel coat, but we have no other option over here.

I am cleaning the boat in the water each week to ensure all the scum that builds up around the water line is removed. It’s allot easier to do it once a week than wait for a month or so and then try to get all the dirt off.

The biggest concern from my side is the chalk stains that appear on the black hull. I have been told that wiping down the gel coat with a 1 part vinegar 3 part water solution helps remove these stains.
