My friend just bought a wakesetter vtx and I would like to get some tips from the other people on this board who own a vtx or have ridden behind one. How do you weight it using the stock ballast for the best wake and what rope length do you guys use?
Thanks
anyone???
Sice the boat just came out this year it's not very popular yet. Try searching for threads on the VLX and LSV. They're all on the same hull so weighting should be similar.
Weight in the nose to offset the wedge. Put a sack in the front playpen.

You might go here and check. Probably a bunch more info.

www.themalibucrew.com

The Vtx is actually on the same hull as he 247 not the 21 or 23 but the same principals that work for almost any v-drive will work for the vtx.
Seriously Eric.... what do you know about Malibu's... LOL!!!
I thought the Vtx was Malibu's 20 footer??
It is John.

The VTX is 20 feet with a 98" beam

The 247 is 24'7" with a 102" beam

I'm not sure how they could be on the same hull...Erik?
It is on the V25 hull design that is scaled down to a 20" length.
Interesting.

I thought the VTX was HOT at the boat show. This was the most anticipated wake for me.

I'm surprised there are no reviews yet.
I just checked the chart at the malibu crew and all wakesetters are on the v25 wake hull.
Sac the nose.....trust me all Bu's get great response from a big ole sac in the nose.
thanks for the answers guys. what about riding speed?
You can order a wakesetter with the diamond hull still.
Riding speed depends on your comfort level. You can ride anywhere from 19-26. Most people ride in the 21-22 range. Just make sure you go fast enough so that you do not have any white wash on your wake.
