New tinted windshield

After looking at many boats on here, I decided to have my windshield tinted when a gift card to get the boat detailed wasn't going to cover the entire cost. So I had them put 20% on her after listening to what you all had to say.

Looks perfect man. 20% looks great on there IMO.

Looks nice with black tower and yellow/black gel coat.

calexan 04-18-2010 11:34 AM

That looks great! Although it looks lighter than 20%...

What is a reasonable price to pay for getting the windshield tinted on a SAN?

rebelman10 04-18-2010 8:22 PM

I want to tint mine also. Does anyone have a pic of 5% on their boat, because that does look light. Looks great!!

It was $160 at the local detail shop

are you positive thats 20%? Looks more like 30 to me..... I have 20 on mine which is alot lighter than the 5% on my tahoe but not as light as the OPs (still looks great in my opinion whatever it is). Someone post up a pic of their 5%

Heres mine with 20%..... sorry its the only shot i have of it, wish i had one with the walkthrough window closed. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/calexan/3520291117/" title="My Bu 23LSV by ChristianChance, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3330/3520291117_97376c35bd_b.jpg" width="1024" height="526" alt="My Bu 23LSV" /></a>

I love the all black!

Ha, no I guess I'm not positive. I was at work while it was getting put on. I told them to put 20 on it. I know the pic was taken around 5pm with the sun shinning pretty much directly into the windshield. I wonder if your bimini being up causes it too look darker? IDK

Thanks everyone for the complements. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

calexan 04-20-2010 8:43 AM

Yea no matter what it is it looks good for sure! Just trying to nail it down before people like it and go put 20 on theirs and it might come out dark or lighter than what they wanted. I know there was a thread on here a while back with people posting all their different tint jobs.... That seemed helpful to people making decisions.

hatepain 04-20-2010 10:09 AM

Looks great on both boats. My initial thought was it was at 30%-35% but considering the sun shining through the back of it I can see how it could be 20%.

younguns44 04-22-2010 7:36 PM

I agree 20% looks good and sun shinning through will change the look as well as the camera

Here is 2.5%. Did it myself back in '03 about 1 month after getting the boat. I don't recommend this for everyone. It definitely takes away from visibility, but I wouldn't have liked it any other way. Sorry I don't have better pics but this was all I could find right now. The 2nd pic is probably the best shot showing the darkness, but it was taken before painting the horn cover black and removing all badging.... And NO! My boat is not actually beached.:)

bawshogg 04-23-2010 7:31 PM

Who did it for ya Harrold? Looks good. Did you oull the windshield, or did they not need to? Just curious, been kickin it around. How many $?

h20king 04-23-2010 8:04 PM

bawshogg I had 503 motoring in Beaverton do the install no they did not have to remove the wind shield they do great work and as for cost $350

younguns44 07-17-2010 6:02 PM

Tint sure makes it look sharp!
