Another new MC model?

Saw on MC's Facebook that they are going to post pics of an all new boat model today any ideas??

wakecumberland 07-26-2012 6:16 AM

New prostar ski hull is my guess.

MattieK27 07-26-2012 6:20 AM

According to some on teamtalk, its a x15 replacement based on the x25 design. I also noticed some of the price increases for '13, yikes...

Scratch that then. Chalk another win for the Nautique 200 in 2013.

I resort to my second guess....X-10

hco 07-26-2012 7:31 AM

The X15 is getting canned and the X10 is coming back.

polarbill 07-26-2012 8:02 AM

Isn't the X25 already a 21.5' boat? Are they making a smaller boat like the X25 or are they going to do a 21' V bow boat where the running surface is like the X25?

tn_rider 07-26-2012 8:22 AM

I'd like to see the x-2 follow the 03-12 x-stars like it has in the past and become a 22ft boat. It's already a proven hull. Why not make your stable of boats that much better?

juniorhawk 07-26-2012 8:47 AM

That's a really nice boat. I have a huge place in my heart for the little nimble ski boats. This thing looks great.

But I was just thinking, it must irritate the hell out of MasterCraft to know that people bang on the X-Star all day long with negativity but claim the x25 to be the best boat in their lineup. That's not good. Not what you want the community to be saying.

jason95gt 07-26-2012 8:56 AM

X-10. Baby brother of the X-30

Looking back at TeamTalk, it looks like it's X30 based. Either way, a log jam of boats at a very similar size.

craigtxmc 07-26-2012 9:11 AM

My guess is........ 2013 X-10. The Tahoe vs X-30 being Suburban.

They just posted that it's the X10

craigtxmc 07-26-2012 10:24 AM

I think we'll start seeing them in Octoberish? Should be great handling boat much like the 30 with similar body lines. I anticipate the X-30 and X-10 slowly replacing the X-15 much like the X-15 did to the X-30 back in 2006. Just my .02

williamburell 07-26-2012 10:43 AM

Dealer: Oh you want a 21' boat? WE HAVE 10!

Buyer: Do you have one thats affordable?

Dealer: eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Wonder if MC hired the designer of the Honda Odyssey??

lifetimewarranty 07-26-2012 11:14 AM

TXJOLE. Jealous much?

I thought the old X10 was basically a deeper v version of the 205v so it would have a smoother ride in chop...

Doesn't seem all that complicated to offer the beast wake version of a few sizes as well as a smoother family friendly version:confused:

I don't ask why a beer company offers so many varieties of beer since they are all beer...
I simply enjoy them all!:D

Craig - very nice. Mastercraft is definitely making all these non MC owners green with envy!

Does MC make a wake boat thats under $100k anymore? <---That's a serious question.

The old X10 was nothing like the 205V hull. The X10 had a more rounded bottom hull. I don' thtink it had trackign fins either. THe X10 was the same hull as the Orginal X30 but was just smaller. Overall the original X10 was a much better all around family boat then the 205V. It had a better rough water ride, more storage, more interior space, more seating, etc.

MC does have a lot of models but remember that the only difference between a maristar and X series is the graphics and standard wakeboard features.

wakedaveup 07-26-2012 11:39 AM

Im not an MC owner and I find all of the new models with the "hips" absolutely horrific. No envy here. I hate to sound so drastic and this isnt a shot at MC because I dont doubt that they build quality boats. This is my PERSONAL opinion as we all know beauty is in the eye of the boholder. That said I honestly don't like a single new model in the line up (Im not talking about performance or this vs that). I don't think I'm the only one either. I do like the bright colors MC has come out with. To the guy above with the new X30 regardless of my opinion congrats on the new boat! Hope you guys make some great memories and have a blast on the water!

You are wrong. The X10 is the same length as the 205 just with the deeper hull (convex) like I mentioned (perhaps I worded it badly)...and with tracking fins...and a better rough water ride...like I mentioned...LOL

It might be the same length, but I think thats where the similarity ends.

Sorry Tim, you are completely wrong. There are no similarities between the 205V hull and the X10 other then the name mastercraft on the side.

No I never say bad things about other brands. I am a proud Nautique fanboy, but I know other boat exist and might be better in some places. The brokeback look does not bother me, just really looks like that van. All in all to each his own, personally my favorite boat is my 08 210, why because its paid for.

501s 07-26-2012 12:06 PM

No, you're wrong!!LOL I think someone hacked your account again.

If you recall, I mentioned first the hull on the 10 being better in rough water...so all that aside,

Here are the 205 and 10 for you to see. What I was trying to point out is they are the same size, hold the same people, pretty much the same vs the X-star hull vs a modified softer hull. Jeez.

I thought you more of tryign to say the hull was the same, just bigger so it would create the same wake. They have very similar layouts although it is quite a bit bigger inside I believe then the 205V.

In what world do these statements mean the same thing? Really leaning on that "basically" modifier, aren't ya?

Basically, a horse is a modified cow; I mean four legs, both are animals, and both stand around a lot...

hco 07-26-2012 2:21 PM

Another MC thread, and another group of idiots who bash the boat and brand before the new one is even released.

lifetimewarranty 07-26-2012 2:28 PM

Mattie,

Someone pointed out a concern about MC having too many boats of similar size and I was simply saying that one was the more serious wake machine while the other was more friendly in choppy water while both being the same size boat...You are reaching a little.

It would be the same thing as saying "MC and Malibu make 21.5' wake boats so why would MB also make one?" Just because the same company makes a bunch of boats that are very close in size doesn't mean they aren't desirable given the buyer's preferences.

I agree HCO. I wonder if these guys bag on Ferrari because they don't have a $50000 model...or would get mad if 7 blonds that were all 36-24-36 had the hots for them.:D

Smile people. Smile.

It wouldn't be the same thing at all. You are talking about competing with another brand, not possible overlap in the brand.

No one said they aren't desirable given a buyers preference, just that there is a log jam of similar sized boats in the MC line. I didn't see anyone bashing anything. Your right, take your advice and smile...

I would guess 70k on the very low end if you live in an area where the dealer sells at lower margins then most. I would expect most dealers to sell this baot at 80-90k equipped how most dealers woudl equip them..

ralph 07-26-2012 6:52 PM

That hull has great lines IMO, love the bow and indent panel. Tower not so much but I'm sure there's other options

I get the "i don't like the tower" comments. Malibu imo had it with the older illusion as my favorite and the 2004-2010 x-stars were SO sexy (took me a while to warm up to the new malibu towers, nautique towers, tige towers etc also)...but

Guys, come on. You're not seeing next years option...think NO JET SKIIS! (and hello "GAME CHANGER?")

Never said you were envious, but maybe you secretly are.

d_rock 07-26-2012 8:07 PM

How much do you think it costs to make one of those towers?? It seems like quite a bit of machining, not to mention a swerious chunk of metal. I dont get it. The old towers of yesteryear are what made me get into this sport/scene.

hco 07-26-2012 8:12 PM

d-rock, the new power towers cost a boatload of money, they went from hydraulic to electric. But the non-power MC towers you can raise and lower with one hand, so the need for the $6k option is only for those with tons of money to burn

kskonn 07-26-2012 9:05 PM

I will be interested in pricing. I saw a pretty decked out 30 selling for 78 at my local dealer. I would think this would actually sell for around low 70's or upper 60's?

BrianB 07-26-2012 9:35 PM

I love this boat and am very much considering purchasing one. I will decide next week after riding behind a X30.

I believe the power tower is now $11,900 which is almost infuriating! I'd take the old design tower in a heartbeat over the new ones!

Tim- if you are going to call people out at least get your facts right. The x-10 and the x-9 shared the exact same hull. The X-1 was just the 205 hull. The X-10 is longer and wider than the old X-1's and MC's. I think someone hacked your account. Bill is correct. You are WRONG.

IF I remember right you got an X2 a year or 2 ago for a really good price. You dealer must be working on smaller margins then ours in Seattle. Some may be that overhead is expensive here. Some may be they can just get it. I think we have the highest concentration of millionaires in the country or close to tops anyways.

I'd hate to see this happen. I currently have an X-15 and I think its a great boat, that puts out a great wake. I guess MC has been known to kill some great wakes though (205v / 03-11 XStar). Personally, I don't like the direction that MC is headed in. Although I prefer the wakes, I haven't been a fan of their gel schemes for a little while now, and the "hips" on the new ones are not really my cup of tea. Their direction kinda has me thinking about selling mine and moving on before it becomes too "dated."

duckguy 07-30-2012 1:13 PM

If you think it's a great boat and a great wake why would you sell it? Your logic seems a little off to me, like maybe you care about what others think more than you.

I think what he's saying is time to sell it before its lack of popularity causes it to lose market value.

I care what others think of my boat - not because I give a crap about my image, but others' impression of my boat is an indicator of what I can sell it for. If people's opinion of my model and brand gets worse for some reason, it means it costs me more to continue owning it (though it is a hidden cost I won't pay until I need to eventually sell it).

Exactly this, probably said better than I could have.

lifetimewarranty 07-30-2012 8:03 PM

LOL guys. Maybe it wasn't clear but the issue (someone brought up) was too much overlap in (similar) boat sizes from MC. You are proving my point in that perhaps there was a reason that they had very similar size boats yet different hulls. I never said the x10 and 205V were the same hull. I own a X2 (205v) so I have an idea of what they look like vs the x10's more rounded bottom...and I was trying to keep it simple in my explanation by saying the x10 may ride better vs the 205 throws a better wake...

ncsuuh....ok 20'7 vs 20'9.....I guess that doesn't overlap...LMAO;)

I will agree that the X10 is bigger but only wider...and only 4 or 5 inches wider. According to NADA they are both 21 foot boats - and the funniest thing is the 205V (or 2004 X2) holds more people than the X10 even though they appear identical inside from a seating standpoint.

My only point was that there was a reason they had/have options in very similar size boats. Overlap? Maybe...but do you want Lamborghini and Ferrari to only offer one 2 door 2 seater car for fear of too much similarity?

Sorry this got so far off topic. Guess I didn't explain it well enough from the start. As far as the hips? So what. If you don't like it...don't buy it. I don't think it will affect market value. Has pickle forks affected non pickle's much? Not in my area.
