Has anyone checked this out? Even if you don't read the interview, you have to check out the video that Bill Jamison put together of Jimmy's riding. The entire thing is from one session of riding when we were testing the new X-Star in Florida. This kid can ride.

http://www.wakeworld.com/interviews/2003/jimmywolf1.asp

Are you kidding me Dave, he only went upside down twice!!! Don't ever put that crap on the web again!

That vid was sweet. That's the kind of riding I like to see.

That kid is a pretty sick rider. Props to all the switch spins.
If that was testing for the new x-star, that wake didn't look any bigger than my friends VLX. Just my two cents.

Dave I am glad someone finally put this kid on the map. I have been watching Jimmy ride for about 2 or 3 years now and he is killing it. Flat 900 wake to wake, that is pretty sick. When we were in PHX for the BYT Jimmy and Chris Williams were tearing it up.

he seems like a very cool kid. must be nice to be 17, not have to work and ride 6 days/week year round!

great spinning, switch and regular - but i don't see a lot of inverts. does he do any tantrums to blind, mobes, raley-based tricks, etc.? don't get me wrong, i'd kill to be able to do half of what he's doing. im just wondering why if he can do a w2w 9, a move that basically propelled tino santori to fame last year, he isn't pro.

is he perhaps very proficient at spins but needs to develop more of a repetoire? or did we just not see a representative sampling? excellent stuff regardless.
Enjoyed the piece DW, especially the FL session video.
The kid can spin with the best.

Hey Chris,

He does throw some mobes and has a tantrum to blind, but he doesn't like raley tricks at all and not because they aren't cool he just doesn't like the fall. His parents hook him up pretty nice. They are super cool people and don't push him to hard like a lot of the parents involved with the wakeboarding scene.

Jimmy's got a sick back roll to blind, bat wing, and i think a bat wing to blind... I've seen the w2w 9 about 4 times, it's mind blowing. this kid kills me in comps every time and he only throws 2 inverts.
if you think he can't make it with that many inverts into the pros, i got two words for you, Collin Wright.
I agree, nice to see Jimmy getting some recognition. He is a nice kid, as are many of the AZ rippers. There are a half dozen or so kids down there, in addition to Brian Frances, who can REALLY ride. I haven't seen Jimmy W ride since about 2 years ago, when I left AZ, but even then at age 15 he had crow mobes and all the standard roll and tantrum variations. He sometimes likes to act kind of wacky and spontaneous, like finishing a contest pass with a massive fashion air to late blind, so if the vid doesn't show a lot of inverts, I'm guessing it's because he wasn't in the mood or maybe is looking to represent a different style of riding lately.

jimmy has a Stalefish roll to blind, tootsie roll,
Nosegrab Crowmobe, Hs back mobe, Indy tantrum to blind, whirlybird, He can't do a bat wing to blind, that is Mike Fulton. Jimmy is also doing hs 900 off the d-up, hs wtw 720,
regular and switch hs bs 540's and a hs bs 720 off the d-up.
Danny call me to go ride

tantrum999 08-28-2003 4:39 AM

Fantastic spins.
So he doesnt invert much? who cares. many pro rider out there would love to spin like that.

Mind you dont like his body position to the wake, looks amateurish? his hands are so close together hunching him up approaching all his tricks. Bad habit i think, they make the handle wide for a a reason! anyone else agree?

Yeah anyone whos questioning if Jimmy can ride should think twice. He kills it hands down. I rode with him in Az and watched him throw a w2w 9 no problem. And yeah when he feels like it he can get tech and throw inverts and mobes but i think he chooses not as much to cuz thier not as fun. Spins are alot more fun personally and thats the way jimmy rides, just having fun and blowing minds.
