I am looking for replacement tower speaker for a 2008 Tige RZ4.

Can I just replace the speakers and keep the enclosures?

Should I replace the whole unit?

Thanks for your help

i'd see if those new Kenwood HLCDs would fit.

KICKER not Kenwood....

Check out the new Kicker KM6500.2 Tower speaker set up. The only issue I see is that those factory cans are loaded with a 6" driver I believe and the new KM6500.2 have a std 6.5 flange pattern. I need to do some checking, but I think they will work.

http://www.kicker.com/km65002

Another option would be 2 pair of KM6250.2. Same MSRP, but not nearly the performance of the KM65002.

You will also need to factor in a new amp regardless which direction you go. If the factory amp powering the current set up is the zx350.4, then those current speakers, as well as the KM6250.2, will handle more, power and the ideal amp for the KM65002 is a 2 chnl producing 150+ watts rms x 2 @ 4 ohms such as the zxm450.2

Thanks Tigemike!! WOW I am not sure I understand all that. I really do not want to replace the amps but I think a couple of the 6" are screwed. I was hoping to just take them out and replace.

That sucks if they are 6"... Like Tigemike said, it seems most run 6.5" speakers.

If they are 6.5", then you have a million choices of speakers.

I'd load them with the bullet 6.5hlcd's if they are the 6.5". They would (like mike said) require more power than you are probably running.

4 of the basic polk's coax's would be ok too, and very cheap in comparison, but 2 hlcd's would outdo probably 8 without horns.

I would also check into the ones that nacho suggested. It looked like they had a horn only in one can, and a woofer in another. Not the most convenient imo, since you have to have twice the cans, but still gets you the sound you want.

Lifetime, he already has 4 cans, so, if the new Kicker KM65002's, which is what Nacho spoke of, if they will fit, would be perfect.

Bullit, check and see what amp you have. I'm guessing is the ZX350.4 as it was the factory amp. If so, it will do 175 watts x 2 @ 4 ohm when bridged. This is perfect power for the KM65002's, but bridging is not my first choice of configuration.

That was my point, Nacho - and a good suggestion by you.

I also like the fact that the factory Tige cans are sweet looking, so if he can utilize them, then that is a perfect situation for the OP.

Awesome input guys. I will check the amps tomorrow. Stay tuned!
