Hello all! For the last few times i have been wakeboarding since i got back into it i have been using my older boat that the speedometer doesn't work. I have been riding a 04' CWB Prodigy. I went out on a frieds Gekko boat and used his cheap wakeboard cause my feet were to big for his good board and bindings. Anyways it felt like i was going way to slow at 28mph. I kept asking him to go faster. The thing that gets me is that on my old boat i don't think i go that fast. Could it be the board? Is the prodigy a fast and good wakeboard? I am looking to buy a new board and want to fix this problem before i buy something that wont work for me. I would much rather board under 25mph so i get a bigger wake=more hang time right? Only sure way to know is to GPS both boats...you may have thoguht you were going slower/faster on a number of different factors.

I would say you were not going 28. I think his speedo is out of callibration. Mine says 27.5, but I know it's not right. More like 23.5. I was adjusting it, thinking I was adjusting something else. Now, I just know that it says one thing, but it's not right.

Can you imagine doing a raley at 28mph? lol

Actually Gene, there are a bunch of guys that ride that speed. I think Nunn and Lyman do, if I remember. Lyman also rides at 100ft.

28mph just seems a little far fetched. I used to ride at 26 mph on my old Four Winns just so the wake would clean up. How the hell does someone ride at 100 feet? Isn't the wake just totally washed back there?

That can't be the reason because I now have a 24 SSV (3200lbs) and my friend has an LSV (2700lbs).... we both load ours out and the wake still washes beyond 85ft. Mine does at about 80.

All pro riders sack out there boat usually close to 4,000 lbs on top of the weight of the boat, hence riding at 90-100 ft back and at speeds near 28 MPH.}

Believe him, some of the pros are riding at that speed and length.

I upgraded to 2 850lb sacs in the rear and the Standard 1150lbs up front plus an extra small sac &amp; weights I move around for balancing. Technically it is a little bigger than the Gravity Games Ballast.

His speedometer is accurate. Could it have been my wakeboard that i was riding.

At 100ft how far from wake to wake? No way I could make that distance.
