first of all, your speculations of the x-1 are incorrect, this boat is probably the STANDARD when it comes to wakeboarding. no problem dude, i would do the same thing! but seriously, if you're budget is in that 35,000 range..definitely keep you're options open...my buddy owns an MC and i used to sell boats at our local MC dealer, so i am alittle biased towards them, but i still suggest to keep your options open..and most important..test drive, test drive, test drive!!! this will be the ONLY way to really determine which boat is best for you, but as i said before, if you're leaning towards that x-star,x-2,x-1, i think youll make the right decision!

I agree that the x-1 can throw a killer wake. I used to ride a 2000 x-star which is now the x-1 and we loaded it up with 2-3k lbs of ballast and it just booted you up. As far as reliability it is just hit and miss. Most boats don't have many problems though.

As far as reliability, Mastercraft, Supra, Moomba, and Malibu all use Indmar as their engine supplier, so not much difference in that end on most wakeboard boats. Nautique uses PCM engines. Both companies have good reputations. Other than that, you have fit, finish, and other stuff which I think mastercraft is top notch. Everyone will argue which brand is the best, but Mastercraft is my choice.

Awesome boat period! I used side sacs in the rear and 500lbs in the nose and it the wake was money! Stock wake is good, just got a little bigger and lippy. You will not be dissapointed.

If you do a search, there was a good thread a couple weeks ago.. lots of pics and feedback.

like mark said, use the stock ballast, add 500 up front and 400 extra in each locker and you'll be hard pressed to find a better wake. hulls don't last for over 10 years in the wake boat market if the wake isn't great <BR> <BR>does anyone else know if any other hull has been around for 10 years?

wake is good but you gotta add a lot of weight... I was unhappy with the boat, but to each is own, I know I'll get torn apart if I bash them, just personally for the money it was a letdown

The hull actually started in 1996.

Supersport/Super Air nautiques have been same hull since 95'

The CC 210 hull was changed in 2007, but still a legendary hull that lasted for a lot of years. Same with the 205V hull, but it is still around today.

Has anybody gotten a quote on a pretty well equipped 08? If so, what are they going to be selling for, what is a good deal on one that is loaded up with mcx, swivel racks, trailer, perfect pass, etc...

I love my Mc 2000 X-star, but if I were in the Market for a yr old boat or current year boat I wouldn't be gettiing another X1. To me there are so many choices that suit our family much better under their "intro" price. which isn't so intro. I love mine for sure wake is awesome, but these days other companies are on with wakes and offer some things that the X1 just can't come close to. Room for one is the biggest issue as is ride..... even for a 20ft'r it's tight. If you are looking for a boat based on wake then well it may be tough to pass the X1 up, but for me I would be going Supra 21V for sure at the X1 price range. You can get a loaded out one for around the same $$ as a bare bones X1 depending on where you are. Just my .02. <BR> <BR>These days pretty much every company has a boat that is right for someone and all just depends on what your main use of you boat is for. A Malibu V-Ride is also a great hull and will give you some added room in the same ball park, but the dealer here isn't someone I want to give business to. <BR> <BR>The X1 has proven again and again to be a solid performer. Still arguably the best wake in the line, but to me these days other companies have stepped up so much that they are def worth a look.

Swatguy is dead on. I too have a 2000 X-Star and absolutely love the thing. That said, I used to have an '05 VLX (we "downgraded" because the VLX was more boat--and more payments--than we needed even though we were using it pretty heavily) and there is no way, if prices were equal, that I'd choose a X-1 over a VLX. There are so many great companies making great boats, I could never justify spending $50k+ for a barebones X-1 or old 210 anymore. There are so many other bigger, more versatile boats in that range, including the VLX, 21V, V215, etc., that still have more wake than any of us will ever need. <BR> <BR>Kevin's used X-1 looks like a good deal though. I'm a big fan of buying a used boat a year or two after it's released. Some one else eats the initial--and biggest--depreciation, and you still get a little warranty.

honestly, you really wont get a better deal at the boat show then you would at the dealer..they make it seem like you're getting a better deal at the show..but they aren't..think about it...if you go to your local 2008 boat show this year..get all priced up for a 2008 x-1..everything you want..all options..everything..then they give you a number and say sign on the dotted line..and then you say..you know what..ive decided im going to hold off until spring..are they seriously going to change the price they quoted you 5 months earlier and say..sorry that was boat show pricing only..you missed out..i highly doubt that..there are sometimes different factory incentives at the show..but for the most part..the price isn't going to be *better by any means

nwsjake10....most manufacturers give boat show incentives that expire two weeks after the show is over. So if you get a price at the boat show, pass, and come back in 5 months chances are the price will be different. Boat Show deals are good, but deals in the fall are usually better than boat show, from what i've seen.

stevo, <BR>you're right in a sense, but trust me...there is really nothing *better* about buying at the boat show...chances are that you'll actually get a better deal BEFORE the boat show...most remaining boats will be at end of the year prices.

dealer price will usually be the same before during or after <BR> <BR>its the free incentives that the MFG gives, like free upgrades <BR> <BR>free racks, depth finder etc etc <BR> <BR>stuff like that, and yes if you do pass on it you wont get it after. <BR> <BR>HOWEVER <BR> <BR>if you purchase ur boat and dont take del before the boat show, you are usually given those incentives aswell

More like in the high 40's low 50's on the out the door price. Again all depends on the options. I can tell you that the boat show deals don't last all year. Like one stated the MSRP/price you pay will most likely stay the same, but the free options and incentives will not be offered. You can also get a good deal on left over 07's as well.

I run 2100lbs and the wake is awesome. Does anybody run 3000lbs and if so what is the wake like?
