I saw a couple of threads about smoke and thought it might be helpful for folks to hear whether a respirator is needed....

I'm selfishly interested in Oroville, but how about
Shasta
Don Pedro
Hogan
Bullards (reported on a separate thread)
Delta
mcClure
Melones
Berryessa
others...

I live in Valley Springs and the smoke was far less today then the previous days. I will be out on Hogan Sunday...should be ok by then.

My wife's at DBay right now says it's still pretty bad.

parkgirl 06-26-2008 1:12 PM

It's bad here in Mountain House too...but there is NO wind and it is really hot, so we are gonna suffer the smoke and head out in a few.

cavlxenvy 06-26-2008 2:05 PM

Not what I wanted to hear Rich. I'll still be up there this weekend regardless.

Work in a downtown Sacramento highrise building. I can say that it looked back 2 days ago with 5 miles of visibility. Yesterday was 3 and today, we would be luck for 2 miles.

Ukiah / Lake Mendocino, the radio recomended any persons outside should be wearing respirators. Ive been trying to stay inside and my throat and lungs are really starting to bug me.

norcalbordr 06-26-2008 3:06 PM

******Hijack******Is that Raquel or Shawna doing what looks like a sick Tootsie Roll? That smoke is crazy by the way. Not that bad in the south bay. Hows visibility at the Delta?

(Message edited by norcalbordr on June 26, 2008)

Gina: When it's that Smokey you should "TRY" and limit yourself going outside and doing any kind of exersize. Or just take deep breath's low to the ground where its not so smokey.

ss1234 06-26-2008 4:00 PM

Gina: Well, that's not exactly what I wanted to see, but thanks for the pic.

gina_h 06-26-2008 5:56 PM

Steve,if you're going to the Bidwell side, it might not be quite as bad. Hope you have a great time anyway!
Jason, that is Shawna doing a Tootsie Roll.
