Has anyone had any experience with these ropes recently? I had one a couple years ago and the coating ended up bunching up and the rope always seemed to get tangled. I really like the proline ropes but I like the different length sections that the SL ropes offer. Has SL gotten any better or are their ropes still garbage?

I have had the same issue with every coated line I have ever used, proline, straightline or accurate. The coating bunching didn't affect the durability of the line, just the smooth feel through the fingers.

Straight Line has changed the formula of the coating in the last couple years. You are good to go with their lines IMO.

Their coated ropes are pretty crappy in my opinion. i LOVE their handles, but im not digging their coated ropes. the coating seems thin and tears if you pull on the rope.

Accurate A/X lines and Proline Vapor/faction lines are the way to go for coated ropes
