Does anyone have suggestion on how to make some or where to buy them.

Easy... I will take a photo of mine tonight and post it on here. <BR> <BR>Inside the passenger cave of my VLX, I took measurements of the wall that lines the outside hull (inside left). Cut the particle board to fit and then painted 3 layers of "herculiner" all over it. You can buy herculiner at Autozone. It's basically a roll on bed liner that seals like a Tank! Or you can just roll on Fiberglass resign if you want.. Either way.. <BR> <BR>I positioned all the amps how I wanted them and then drilled holes for the wires. Mounted the amps and pre-wired everything on the board before I put it back in the boat. The Amp rack was obviously heavy and needed help, but it looks great!

as it lays against the side of the boat at an angle, I just bought to aluminum L brackets at Lowes and painted them to match. I attached one L bracket to the top right and another to the bottom left.

After experiencing a few heat issues with amplifiers in friend's boats I now try to run amps to the cooling fins are vertical instead of horizontal as shown in the picture above. In most cases the graphics will look better when installed but they will perform better if turned sideways. <BR> <BR>My amps are mounted on 1" x 1/4" aluminum bars with space above and below for air circulation. Sorry I don't have any pix handy.

I run my amps at 2 ohms when it's 116 degrees outside and don't have any problems. I have only had them cut off once when parked for 5 hours and playing it as loud as it can for the entire time. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0>

Gunnar, <BR> What material did you use. Are they showing any signs of fatigue on the welds. Love the look, I am just use to "customer-proofing" installs, and that seems like after a few drunken super triple double ups the weight and angle might crack the welds. Welds are not a problem. I would be more concerned if it was alum. but it's 3/16 steel and I laid some weld on both sides of the angle iron.

Do you conect the negative of the amps to the battery or do you ground it on the boat, and if you do that where do you ground it? <BR> <BR>Thanks

wow! very clean and simple...

all grounds go back to the same place...the NEG of the battery. <BR> <BR>Its a better idea to run it right back to the battery as you dont know what the return gauge is of the OEM wire on the ground system. Since electrons move negative to positive you would be limiting yourself if you have a heavy current draw as well.

Need help choosing amps to run (1) pair Pro-80x, (1) 10 or 12w7, and 6 polks inside boat my 07' Malibu VTX. I want clear sound but want to be good with storage space. I also want to consider options that won't load the batteries too bad when floating. Should I consider alternator improvements? Thanks for any advise!
