Dude gets thrown from boat crossing huge wake/wave
ouch
Wow, looks like he was close in too shore where the waves were cresting. I'm sure that hurt a bit getting tossed and landing on the side of the boat.
haha that is funny. Good thing he did not get run over.
Looks like the captain got tossed and wonder if he had his kill lanyard attached or someone else was at the wheel? Looked like a pretty good bruising or worse.
He is lucky he did not get under the boat and chopped up. I cannot tell how they recovered the boat.
I watched a dive boat do the same thing except it did not right itself. It was a 35' single screw inboard. Not enough power to stay ahead of the breaking waves in the inlet. It got caught from behind at the starboard corner of the boat and pushed into the trough and over. |
Just noticed it's two inlets north of me in Jupiter. Hammer down buddy!
Holy crap... crazy. That's a big boat to be getting rag dolled around like that. Looks like whoever grabbed the controls did a great job. That guy's lucky to be alive.
The mate scrambled up from the cockpit and saved the boat. Lifeguards watching the surfers recovered the captain. The photog was shooting surfers in the inlet and so happened to catch the action. I think the boat is a 48 Garlington but not 100% sure. I last heard the guy is in pretty tough shape. listed critical and on a ventilator with spinal injuries. There is a thread on THT. (The Hull Truth .com) that has great detail from people involved.
Good thoughts and prayers offered here. |
Serious pucker factor.
I hope he is ok. I have no idea how that could happen.
Unfortunately he passed. He was a very well respected captain and a heck of a nice man.
wow. RIP.
Jesus, thats awful. Didn't look bad enough to kill the guy. I guess you can't really see what happened before he went over though. RIP.
He passed? wow, didnt see that coming. R.I.P
Wow such a high price to pay. Profound condolences to the family and friends of the captain.
