Was recently in St Martin and could have bought a 40D without the kit lens for $875. My gut told me it was a good deal but the same gut also told me it wasn't (warranty questions). Anyway, still in the market for one and wondering if anyone has seen prices drop lately on this model Canon???

Got mine at B&amp;H with the 28-135 L lens for $1350, great combo, love this camera.

We carry most the top SLR's and a decent amount of lens, just lack in the accessories area. Prices are just a tad bit higher sometimes, but I promise you that you can buy with confidence. JD Power certified and a great experience everytime you buy. Just wanted to throw this out there if you haven't had a chance to check us out. I bought a lots of stereo equipment from Crutchfield and I love them. You must get great discounts. I'm looking for the best possible price though..... but I'll check them out as sometimes they have good sales.

costco has it on line right now for around 980.00

I picked one up at Circuit City with a 28-135 for 1199.00. The following weekend they had a "no sales tax" sale, so I asked if they would honor it even though I'm a week late, They did. I paid 1096.00 out the door. <BR> <BR>But, I didn't get a 28-135 L series. Man, Randy.. that's a steal. ;)

lol.. I need to learn to count/read a receipt better. <BR>I paid 1196.00 OTD.

Randy that's the combo I'm looking for. How did you negotiate that deal???
