forwaken 12-27-2003 11:23 AM

Did you ever figure it out? Cause I was wondering what is going on with this as well? Is everyone still meeting at Orwood at 9? Our crew still plans to be there. Maybe Rod can help us out.

Chad

speedy 12-27-2003 12:03 PM

The last I heard was 9am at orwood for breakfast. Union Point will also be open on new years day.

mark

wakelvr 12-27-2003 5:13 PM

Jason and I are still planning to go. We have a crew of 6 total and are bringing the X2. Looking forward to hanging with everyone. We'll be getting to Orwood around 9/9:30 and will launch our boat and then join you all for breakfast....

I hope it doesn't rain.....

forwaken 12-27-2003 8:08 PM

Shhhhhh...... Stefani you said it, now if it does, it is all your fault!!!

Expect 4-6 from our crew for the breakfast/riding/socializing (If we all get up on time) and are going to be in an 02 SAN.

westsidarider 12-28-2003 7:10 PM

ill be there

alan_bogdanoff 12-28-2003 8:49 PM

Hey Rene,
I was just at Orwood today, I could'nt even see my boat from the cafe (fog). It started to clear at about 10:30AM. Not one wakeboarder on the water?
But I will be there at 9AM. I'll have my new prototype with me. Looking foreward to seeing the whole crew.
What up Jason, Long time...??
Can't wait to film you and Kevin and the rest of you. Might even bring the SLR.
scott_a 12-28-2003 11:55 PM

count me in. ill bring me a video camera and we can have some fun

richd 12-29-2003 7:19 AM

Chris and I are coming.

jetgofish 12-29-2003 8:18 AM

Alan, where'd you ride all weekend. I was on the water both Sat and Sunday and we only saw one boat, but no one in the water. We had Victoria's to ourselves and Saturday we shared twins for a bit with two huge seals... one finally found it's way to Victoria's but we were on the way out! Gotta say perfect water this Christmas weekend...but it was freakin COLLLLLLD!!!

thor 12-29-2003 8:21 AM

We still plan on riding New Year's Day. Right now we have 8 people in our group.

I just checked yahoo weather before coming to this site and the current forecast doesn't look that great.

Let's just hope for the best and see what the forecast is on Wednesday.

Does everyone who is planning on attending on New Year's Day have a ride lined up? If not, then speak up and let's see if anyone has any extra room.

jetgofish 12-29-2003 8:21 AM

We stopped off at Union Point and they will be open New Year's Day at 10 am, so we can do the lunch, coffee break with about 30 bikers!

eyesman 12-29-2003 9:13 AM

RAIN very likely on New Years Day.
Let's switch to New Years Eve Day

jetgofish 12-29-2003 9:14 AM

New Years Eve Day would be good, but I wouldn't make it due to work! What's a little rain matter, your getting wet any how!!!

norcal_99 12-29-2003 12:26 PM

I'll be there at 9am with my boat. Kevin Bird, Jason & Heather Callen, Rich & Chris Dykmans, Alan Bogdanoff, Mark Castenelli, and myself. I've also invited Arun and Anne-Michelle, but I haven't heard back from them yet. My five year old son James might come too if it's not raining.
guido 12-29-2003 1:35 PM

Water was co-co-cold on sunday. Air temp was in the low forties. Hopefully it'll warm up sometime soon. With the rain comes the warmer weather/water......Forget that. What's the first day of summer.

westsidarider 12-29-2003 4:21 PM

hey alan whats up. looks like ill be seein you on the 1st. gonna be a fun day no matter what. bring the cameras, were gonna be goin off.

alan_bogdanoff 12-29-2003 9:44 PM

I think the rain is on for the New Years day.
Are we still on? Rain or Shine?
I'll be at a party in Pleasanton on New Years eve. I'll crash there - so if the game is on - I'll be there 9AM.
levi 12-29-2003 11:17 PM

I guess if all you guys are going to brave the cold weather then I'll tag along if there's room. My marina is closed on New Years so it'll be a big pain to get my boat out and back in...so if there's extra room on somebody's boat then I'd like to tag along. Now, this will be my first dry suit experience...so for us newbies...what are the items that make a winter day on the delta a good one?

jetgofish 12-30-2003 9:28 AM

Levi I think we have exta room on our boat.

You should bring a second set of dry clothes and warm clothing. Under your dry what you wear depends on you. Sweats, light long sleeve T etc.

levi 12-30-2003 11:03 AM

Thanks Teri. I'll plan on tagging along w/ your crew unless you guys fill up. Also let me know if you want me to meet you at Disco so I can help get the boat ready and help put it away after.

thx,

Levi
408.685.3282

norcal_99 12-30-2003 1:19 PM

I'll be there rain or shine at or around 9am.

wakelvr 12-30-2003 1:49 PM

We would like to go rain or shine. We are a little concerned about our speakers on the tower though. Does anyone know if the rain can pose problems for these?

cfisher 12-30-2003 2:04 PM

Well, the Excursion is still dead (and will be for a while), but Mike is going to tow the boat for me so I will be there will a full crew!

Let's just hope the weather folks have it wrong....hehehe.

levi 12-30-2003 2:57 PM

Christie,

If for some reason you need another tow vehicle let me know, I'll be cruising out in my truck.

cfisher 12-30-2003 4:23 PM

Thanks, Levi! See you Thursday!

gherk 12-30-2003 4:41 PM

I will probably be there with my SAN and I am expecting 4 to 5 people in my boat. As long as it isn't raining hard, we will be there at 9.

thor 12-30-2003 5:31 PM

The rain will probably keep most of our wives at home, but as for the rest of our crew, we'll be there rain or shine.

Let's just hope for decent weather, or maybe not, depending on if some of us really want our wives to come along.

wakelvr 12-30-2003 5:54 PM

Nice Rob....!!! This is my thought on that matter....

eyesman 12-30-2003 5:59 PM

i just got back from railroad!
N-I-C-E!
butta everywhere. water is getting cold though.
every forecast in the universe says a lot of rain on NYD. Therefore my wife and i are out. bock bock...have fun.
jetgofish 12-30-2003 6:18 PM

Ice, I was home sick today and I watched my bay turn to glass by 2, I am sure the main water was butta, thanks for cutting up for me while I'm sick...I'll be there rain or shine, sick or not!!!

peter_c 12-30-2003 7:47 PM

Teri, you are always sick! What is wrong with you? Eat your vitamins.

Stefani, your speakers are the same type of speakers used in a car. They are designed to mount inside the door. When it rains on the outside of your car door it runs down "into" the door and out the bottom. Point is yes they are designed to handle water.

Sounds like full rain gear is going to be in order.

jetgofish 12-30-2003 8:04 PM

Peter, maybe I like to be sick (ya right) or maybe it's just because I wakeboard in the freezing cold and when it's raining and when the water is cold...Maybe it's because I've had pneumonia (sp) and my immune is down. I do take vitams...geesh...I got the flu shot this year too...What the heck...

Any how I agree with you on the rain gear and I will be dawning mine!

See ya out there!

alan_bogdanoff 12-30-2003 8:30 PM

Jetgofish,
I wasn't riding this weekend. I was test driving my boat to a guy that was interested in buying it. We were just out for a couple of hours.
Sold the boat!! (2000 Supreme).

O.K. - So it's rain or shine - Jan 1, 04 @ 9AM.
Just making sure. Don't foreget the gloves for those frozen fingers.

jetgofish 12-30-2003 8:46 PM

Congrats on the boat...if you were out in Twins did you see the seals? See you in 04

alan_bogdanoff 12-30-2003 9:45 PM

Did not see the seals.
See you in 04 @ 9AM rain or shine.
(it's going to be rain) but should make for an interesting session.
wakelvr 12-31-2003 9:05 AM

Well folks, at this point we are going to play tomorrow by ear. If the wind picks up AND it rains, the water will not be rideable. They're calling for 30 mph gusts, which if any of you in the area remember what it was like Monday out here, then you know how bad it was. So, we are going to pack the boat up along with our rain gear, and hope for the best. If it's a blow out, maybe we can all meet for breakfast anyway....

They are saying Friday will be partly cloudy.... Friday might be a better day...

dococ 12-31-2003 9:22 AM

I'm thinking the same as Stefani...
Meet for breakfast at Orwood and make a decision from there. I want to see everybody to start off the new year, but I'm not much interested in riding if the wind is more than 10-15mph.
I guess I must now forfeit my "diehard" status!!
jetgofish 12-31-2003 9:24 AM

About a month ago Sean and I really, really wanted to ride but there were 35 mph winds, we headed to Victorias and found perfect water, guess it depends on the wind direction...see ya all for breakfast

cfisher 12-31-2003 9:46 AM

I'm with both Stefani and Doctor Octagon....

Rain is not so bad by itself. However, rain combined with major winds gusts (up to 35 mph according to accuweather) and flash flood warnings and that is where I start to hesitate.

I might have to forfeit my "diehard" status as well. If I still have a crew, I won't cancel on them. However, it is starting to look like we might just have breakfast at Orwood to ring in the New Year!

thor 12-31-2003 10:09 AM

The forecast calls for winds out of the south. Victoria runs east/west, so it might not be that bad.

I'm forever the optimist when it comes to riding, but I guess I'll have to check with Mark and see what he wants to do since I am riding on his boat tomorrow.

As for going to Orwood for breakfast only, I'm not to sure about that since I have to drive from San Jose.

Now if anyone wants to go for a boat ride to Union Point for lunch and cocktails that might entice me to drive to the delta. Who knows maybe after a few cocktails the wind wouldn't matter anyway.

eyesman 12-31-2003 1:55 PM

rob, you are a freakin diehard, course you havent ridin in 2 weeks dude, bring your tube is all i got to say

eyesman 12-31-2003 2:45 PM

How about Saturday, anyone planning to head out?

BRENTWOOD:
Thursday Jan 01 Rain / Wind 52°/40° 90 %
VS.
Saturday Jan 03 Partly Cloudy 52°/39° 10 %
thor 12-31-2003 2:51 PM

Dave,

Fortunately, I was able to ride at Calero this past Satuday with Trace, Mac, and Shawn, or I would really be going crazy with the thought of the weather system coming in.

I'll give Mark a call in a few and we can make a final decision at that time.

As for this weekend, I'm heading to Granite Bay for a holiday party on Saturday night, but I might be able to swing by the delta on my way home on Sunday. If you want, try to talk Mark into riding on Sunday around noon.

westsidarider 12-31-2003 3:54 PM

hey anyone know about a contest in the sacramento area on the delta tomorow

jetgofish 12-31-2003 6:38 PM

Jason you must be talking bout the Frozen Bun Run out of Bethel Island..

Ice...Jego and Crew will be out Saturday

norcal_99 12-31-2003 8:05 PM

I'll be there at 9am. I don't think the wind will be that bad.

cfisher 12-31-2003 9:42 PM

Dave - I might be up for Sat. too, but I would have to get off the water by 3. Let me know if you are interested.

scott_a 12-31-2003 9:49 PM

http://www.weather.com/weather/narrative/USCA0128

winds from SSW at 25-35 mph!!! craziness.
90% chance of rain, and there will be about an inch of it.

sat is supposed to clear up though...

i too will be coming from san jose, looks like i'll wait and see what the weather will be like.

alan_bogdanoff 12-31-2003 11:05 PM

Tomarow sounds like hell - there calling for heaps of winds, and hella rain.
Sat sounds way better for me.
Tomarow, when I wake up I will evalute the situation as to weather I'll show. There saying that this storm will be a big one.
Hate to bring out all the photo equipment, and not be able to use it.
Happy New Year Crew!

alan_bogdanoff 01-01-2004 12:10 AM

forwaken 01-01-2004 5:48 AM

It wouldn't be a problem riding in the rain, however towing the boat in the rain is a problem. I am just getting off work now and it doesn't look like we will be making it up for this trip unless something miraculous happens in the next two hours while I am trying to get what little sleep I get. Or Paul (Gherk) and the rest or our crew surprises the hell out of me and picks me up anyways.

To all who make it:

Have a great time and happy new year to all! Maybe we can plan a Saturday trip.
lzyboy 01-01-2004 6:49 AM

Considering the rain is still dumping here in Pleasanton and the doppler radar isnt looking any better not to mention I'm 1/2 way delirous after a doubleshift I am headed home for some shuteye.

To those that make it and those that don't. . .

~ HAPPY NEW YEAR ~

( anyone game for Saturday )

scott_a 01-01-2004 7:24 AM

well this just sucks...

maybe reschedule this thing for saturday?

richd 01-01-2004 8:59 AM

We're up here in Truckee and it's been snowing like crazy since yesterday afternoon. Chris shoveled the deck last nite and there's already 2 ft of snow on it. I told Rene last nite we were calling it. (I hope I sounded coherent!) Anyhow if someone is going out Sat or Sun let me know!

levi 01-01-2004 1:29 PM

Well, we just got back from a morning set and this is what it looked like:

Well, maybe that's not exactly what it looked like. We still went and hit Orwood for some breakfast, but I understand that you're all probably on a diet and didn't come. Good to meet your crew Terri......

I may be up for saturday...if I don't have to work. Happy New Year to y'all!

norcal_99 01-01-2004 2:48 PM

My entire crew canceled either last night or early this morning so I went back to sleep at 8am. I just now woke up.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday I'll be up in Tahoe enjoying the fresh white powder.

Happy New Years everyone.
norcal_99 01-01-2004 2:50 PM

Did anyone make it out and ride?

wakelvr 01-01-2004 3:55 PM

It was nasty out here this morning. We had some friends over last night and decided to sleep in this morning. Actually, we lost power and accidently slept in. We woke up to some nasty wind and rain.... Hope it was fun to all that made it.

Happy New Year

cfisher 01-01-2004 3:59 PM

Stef - We lost power here too. It was out all morning. Anyone up for riding any of the next three days?

jetgofish 01-01-2004 5:43 PM
All after Levi left and we sat around and waited, the Gods did call and we went out for a wicked set. The winds died down and this is what we got we saw two other boats and the water was freakin COLLLLLLLD

Will be riding Saturday and possibly Sunday...Hope to see you all there

cfisher 01-01-2004 8:06 PM

Chad - We are taking my boat. Do you want to join us or do you have a full crew?

forwaken 01-01-2004 8:08 PM

I am not sure yet, Squid is sick so I am not sure if he is going or not, and one of our normal riders has to work, so right now there is just two of us, but I am also just getting this going so I'll probably know more tommorrow. I'll keep in touch and thanks for the invite.

buttacup 01-01-2004 9:41 PM

T- is that you in the second pic? if so, no wonder you're sick
