Okay, so my dad and I worked out a deal that if I get a 3.5 GPA or higher the first semester at Virginia Tech, he'll sell our boats and get a wakeboard boat (finally!). Cause right now I've been primarily riding behind a 1992 Hurricane Fun Deck 22 foot deckboat... Yeah.

So I've come down to two boats to look at. I want room for a lot of people, so I've picked out the 2007 Mobius XLV Gravity, and a 2004-2006 Malibu Wakesetter LSV 23/247. Of the two, which one do you think would be the better of the two.

And please, no hate mongering or suggesting an X-Star, cause we can't afford one of those.

23 Ft Lsv is like no brainer right there unless it's in horrible condition
agreeed with baine.... Nick your last commit needs to rethinked you can get a used 04-05 Xstar which IMO would be better than the other two.
Eh, yeah, but you can't hold that many people in an x-star, and from what I've heard there isn't much ballast to it.
Between the Mobius and Malibu, Malibu is the only choice! You should also consider the Malibu VLX. IMO the best factory wake on the market. Add weight and it just gets bigger! X-Star needs 500-1000 lbs of additional weight to make it ridable. Very nice boat though...

My dad went to VT, it is a good school. What is your major? I was thinking of maybe going for grad school. It is such a beautiful campus, although too cold for me.
Watch out for those psychos at VT...

My vote would be the LSV23 for the ones you listed, but would also suggest you look at the Calabria Pro-V if seating is a priority too, and the 05 VLX, cuz........well, it's a VLX!

It's not like you can really go wrong with any of your choices though....
i have a 04 gravity games SSV for sale.
liquid element05@earthlink.net
the 247 all the way throws a wake up to your waist. 23 LSV if you want to cut down on the cost a little bit. If you can afford it 247
X-Star, XLV ? Has anybody here rode behind a 247. Go test drive one with 10+ people and you will be amazed. The surf wake is insane. I had some buddies that went surfing on one with 22 people and the wake was shoulder high+ on a really tall guy.
Where do you go to board around Tech? Claytor or Smith Mountain?
Claytor Lake I think, I live on Smith Mountain Lake though.

I really want to find a used 247, cause if I can, I'm going to get him to get it.

Nick,
I have a friend who lives on the private side of Lake Anna who will be selling his '04 or '05 (can't remember which it is) Wakesetter 23 LSV. He's getting a new one.
Go over to http://www.dcwake.com & send him a PM. His name is John, but his login is skyskier. I'm sure he'd be happy to give you a pull. Hell, since he lives on the private side of Anna, you could take that pull after you get your 3.5. We went out last year in January!
I wouldnt want to suggest an Xstar since it seems your biased from the start. Id suggest you get a glastron very cheap boat not out of your range. Think about all that money ur dad would save, make him proud...
Go with an X-1. That would be a great college boat!
i think someone else besides nick is biased on here....
I'm not biased, and I understand that the X-Star is freaking awesome, I've ridden behind one before, I just don't want an X-Star...
