I've made a tower speaker decision, now I need amp suggestions
We decided not to go with the HLCD's right now.
I got these tower speakers on ebay, and need to decide on a good amp for them. UPS put a dent in them, so we were thinking about sending them back and upgrading to some HLCD's, but the guy has been great and offered a discount. So, it's amp time. I don't need a marine amp, so I'm not going in that direction. Here is my problem, the LA web site says: • RMS 80 watt, 180 Watt Peak And the ebay auction says: 800 watts each peak and 100 watts RMS each. The speakers are Polk MM651UM's and there are two in each pod wired in parallel so they are at a 2 ohm load. And I'm not sure exactly what size amp I should be looking for? I was thinking somewhere in the 100-200 watt RMS per channel range, for a 2 channel amp. Was looking at these. JL Audio JX360, it's 2x180 watts at 2 ohms. Rockford Fosgate P300, it's 2x150 at 2 ohms. Rockford Fosgate P400, it's 2x200 at 2 ohms. Polk Audio PA330, it's 2 x100 at 2 ohms. Any suggestions? |
