Did anyone else see the sunk Pro-V at the south end of Vics on Monday? We came by around 4:00 and the were winching it up to a barge. Just curious if anyone new what happend, there was also a jet ski floating in the tules.

parkgirl 05-29-2007 8:58 AM

yeah we saw it...have some pics too. From what we heard there were 12 people in the boat, driving back from Union Sun. night and they ran it up on the levee.

kurtuleas 05-29-2007 9:01 AM

From what I heard at UP, a 20 year old girl was driving her boyfriend's DAD'S boat (Which was un-insured) around midnight. They had 12 people on the boat and she launched it off the rocks. No one was hurt, but I am sure someone is GOING to be.

I heard all this from Diego....

brick 05-29-2007 9:03 AM

Ouch. Andrea are you going to post the pics?

keith2002 05-29-2007 9:07 AM

I was talking to the guys on Golden Isle and the story I got was that the group was coming from the Union Point party and the kid who was using his father's BRAND NEW NOT YET INSURED Pro V let a drunk 21 year old girl drive it. She it up onto the rocks and then it proceeded to roll back down the bank into the water and get stuck upside down in the mud. How would you like to make that call to dad.

Kurtuleas - GET BACK TO WORK!

parkgirl 05-29-2007 9:10 AM

here they are. This is really early Mon. morning while the tide was still high. We ran into some people who were staying on the island that rescued them that night and they said the tower acted like a rollbar and allowed them all to get out unharmed. Sucks seeing a boat all messed up like this!

I foresee a cheap boat being up for sale pretty soon. "Fresh Paint"

kurtuleas 05-29-2007 9:19 AM

I saw them pulling it out late monday, and the tower was crushed pretty well. It's amazing that no one got hurt.

And Keith, I AM working! I am ejudkating ASmekica's yuth az we spek.

keith2002 05-29-2007 9:21 AM

You're not ejukating. you're thinking about your heelside backside 360.

jifffy 05-29-2007 11:24 AM

holy ****! They are lucky no one was injured or killed

eas 05-29-2007 11:25 AM

wow...that sux...but now when the rednecks around here ask me what "...that thar roll-bar is fer..." I can answer with confidence...

sorry...but you wouldn't believe how many times I've been asked that...so many that I've wondered if it would actually work...

kevin_lsv23 05-29-2007 11:27 AM

I think wakeboard boats should all get cheaper insurance because of the "rollbars".

h20diva 05-29-2007 12:00 PM

I thought dealerships put insurance in place for you, and then if you wanted to shop around, you could. What was that dad thinking on letting his kid go out on a "party" weekend, he was asking for problems, IMO. When we went out on Sat. we saw a Sea Doo fly right over the top of a Magnum Skier, sent the Sea Doo about 5 feet in the air - no one was hurt, well some pride I'm sure... The windshield was completely smashed in and there was fiberglass damage to the PWC as well as the boat. And to think these guys hadn't even started to drink yet, so they said!

(Message edited by h20diva on May 29, 2007)

(Message edited by h20diva on May 29, 2007)

ponte_06_x2 05-29-2007 12:10 PM

are you sure thats a boat or is it those whales

lzyboy 05-29-2007 12:21 PM

Union Point through the annual Get Loose Party from 12pm - 2 am with DJ's, bands, etc... I had a buddy coming home on Sunday afternoon & he said people were parked like a mile down the road walking in to the place & the docks were 2/3 + deep wide, it was a zoo. They are very lucky no one got hurt, drowned, pinned, thrown - wow!

Andrea, looks like the WIND is finally letting up, bout time eh?

A

2007_x2 05-29-2007 10:45 PM

damn somebody is in hella trouble!

tomcalabria 05-29-2007 11:13 PM

Now I know why Tate and Rene call their boat "Only Child."

Ha, Attila can you imagine if your kids do this to your new boat?

If it was not insured, then I gues he paid all cash for it. I do not believe that the bank would let the boat leave the shop without being insured.

ponte_06_x2 05-30-2007 7:16 AM

i bet the girl breaks up with this dude after this, and it was her fault.

wakeboardlasvegas 05-30-2007 8:05 AM

We rescued about 8 kids (non of which seemed to be 18 or older) in a rental that decided to take a swim in some serious chop on monday.F-ed up thing when we got back to the dock they seemed to not even care that they sunk it and just giggled about it!

dabell 05-30-2007 8:22 AM

That is because it was a rental. It's not their problem unfortunately.

ttrigo 05-30-2007 8:42 AM

"i bet the girl breaks up with this dude after this, and it was her fault"

sounds more like it was the guys fault. the boat was his responsibility, and he let a drunk person drive it. see what happens when you think you are about to get laid....

atimatik 05-30-2007 3:34 PM

Union Point didn't have any major incidents because the event was very well organized with proper security, staff, and even properly handled with the the city of San Joaquin. (other than the idiot drunk girl driving daddy's boat of course) Did anybody see the skydivers early in the day? Wow, that was amazing watching those guys sweep accross the water at full speed with their smoke going!

richd 05-30-2007 5:41 PM

Craig, one of our club members, went over and "rescued" them at around 10:00 pm sunday nite. It supposedly happened at around 8 pm. sunday. One guy took off walking down the levee and no one knew what happened to him, one guy had hypothermia pretty bad and a few of them refused to ride in Craig's boat with the girl that evidently wrecked it.

First busy weekend at Vic's with no 5 mph zone on the club island end and it was entertaining to say the least. Saw at least 2 different people almost get run over starting out at what used to be the 5 zone. Best thing is to head up the slough a few hundred yards before you put your rider in the water as people are coming around the turn full tilt.
