Out of scene for a while - New Wakeboard Advice- 2012 Viva??
Hello all,
I'm in the market for a new board. My last board was a 2005 or 2006 Hyperlite parks bonifay with parks boots. The last 3 years i've ridden a combined maybe 10 times due to school. Finally, I am able to get back into wakeboarding. Unfortunately my board cracked last weekened. I don't know much about new boards as haven't paid attention to the industry in a while. I've gone to a few shops and spoke to some people and I like the sounds of the Ronix viva. I've been looking for good deals online and I realize there is a bunch of 2012 Ronix viva modello board with viva bindings around for great deals. For example: http://www.amazon.com/Ronix-Modello-...3500116&sr=1-7 I am curious, is the 2012 board similar to 2013? The abundance of cheap Viva's almost worries me - was something wrong with that board or is it a good choice. I don't need a 2013 board if i can get the 2012 model for half price, so is it a good choice? I ride mainly behind the boat, and do the basic inverts - scarecrow, backroll, etc. Is this board fine for that stuff? Any thoughts and/or recomendations are much appreciated. thanks. |
If you like the sounds of the viva I'm assuming you like a fast board. Check out the hyperlite marek. I got a 2012 version on sierratradingpost.com for really cheap. If you check their site at like 1 in the morning sometimes the sale is extra. I got a Marek nova core for $330.

I love my 2012 Viva. Fast and really responsive with good pop. I use Ronix Preston boots and they work really well with this board. My Wife just bought a 2013 Viva and aside from the graphics there is no difference between our boards.
