I just don't seem to get the pop that I need. I searched past threads and they say imagine jumping up thru a hoop. Didn't work. Just doesn't seem like I get the pop or I don't get the load release from the wake. Do I need to cut real hard? Do I need to flatten out? Now that I have an X-star wake I know I have sufficient pop and air.
I haven't ridden away from it yet..... but I am getting close. I have landed on the board with the rope in hand, but too much slack in the rope. As far as the pop, I try to wait as long as possible before throwin myself over the front of the board. Seems to me that the very top of the wake is farther than I think.... hope this helps some. By the way, no one I ride with has ever seen anyone land this trick so tips are hard to come by.

This is a real simple trick. Imagine, when you are cutting away from the boat to set up for a heelside jump. This is the same position you want to be in when you are edging back into the wake on your toeside edge. You have you back straight with your chest up, and your legs are nice and straight. This is going to be the key to getting your big air. When you ride all the way through the wake, you tuck your chin to your chest, holding on with two hands til about midway through the trick. This keeps you rotating instead of stalling out. After you reach the midway let go with your rear hand. Make sure that the hand you are stil holding to the rope with is kept close to your body. This also helps your rotation. Once you can see the water you should know where the rope belongs. Either close to your body or let it out a little to slow your rotation. I hope this is lucid enough to follow.

Bill
Trophy Lakes
Johns Island, SC

Thanks, guys. I will try this weekend. The trick just has not clicked yet. I have went out and troed different things but I just haven't seen the light.

I think I need to wait a little longer on throwing it. Otherwise, fill up the 2 extra fat sacs in the X-star and go for it.
