I am looking to install a decent stero in my boat. It needs to be cheap though. I want to know what componets work the best for cheap. Which speakers would you recomend for in the cabin? Which head unit? Do I need an amp? Which sub? Which head unit do you recomend? The boat doesn't have a tower so I don't need to worry about a tower system yet. I would like to have the option of adding a tower later on. Also do I need marine speakers, or will car audio speakers work? Thank you in advance for the advice you offer me.

Boat, cheap?

I guess you could try your local auto parts store and buy some crap uh I mean audio equipment for a couple hundred.

I honestly would'nt waste the few dollars, just throw a boom box in the back seat buy some extra batteries and rock it. save your cash and have someone install something nice later.

Build your own speaker cabinets/tubes ($50), buy some decent speakers ($100), wiring ($40), head unit ($50-100), and amp ($100) on ebay. That is a whole system for $400. I did it and my system can be heard while riding. We only ride at 65 ft, but it isnt bad. I am running 4 6.5" speakers and 1000w amp. Sony speakers and boss amp. Very cheap stuff. I will be upgrading to NVS this summer though.
