Anyone have any advice on settings for shooting outdoor stadiums at night?

Was at a baseball game last night and couldn't get anything to come out very well after messing with the on camera flash and bumping up the ISO. I'm guessing most of this was due to poor flash and only having a 200mm lens. All the pictures were just dark and didn't seem to capture the true colors very well. Any tips? Going to a football game Saturday night and want to try it again.

What lens are you using? You need a 2.8 or better for night/gym shooting.

Yeah, high ISO and a fast lens is about all the help I can give you. Unless you drop a load of cash on some big strobes and get permission to mount them above.

Guess I'll just sit back and enjoy the game then. Won't be getting a 2.8 or permission any time soon.

I figured it was something to do with those. Oh, well, thanks anyways!

A flash isn't going to do anything for you at a baseball game(except for shooting the people around you)
Bumping ISO and working on you holding technique are about your only options.
You could also try a monopod, but you might have trouble getting it into the game
