Hey, <BR>I am getting ready to buy a "new used boat", I only have about $25K to spend. The boat will spend most of its time on Lake Meade, Havasu and on Lake Pleasant. I am trying to find a decent boat with the longest range possible (big gas tanks). Does anyone have any suggestions? In that price range, a Sanger or SAN will have the best range -- the more narrow boats.

My 99' Mastercraft Maristar 230 VRS holds 60 gallons . . .can pick one up for around 30K.

Sanger v210 is the narrow vdrive model. I prefer the v215, but thats not going to help with your range issue

the Sanger v210 gets great gas mileage for a boat. Ours burns maybe 4-5 gallons an hour at wakeboarding speeds. The only concern you may have making trips is that the lakes you mentioned are big so if it gets windy it would be a pretty tedious drive. The sanger sits pretty low and doesnt do too well in rough water

Sounds like you should be more concerned with getting a rough water boat then a long distance boat. Although not entirely as safe as gas in a tank people have been toting gas cans around for years??

The Centurion Cyclone and Avalanche have deep v hulls that handle the rough water well. I have never test driven the Centurion Lightning, but it also has a deep v hull, so I'm would assume it rides as well as the Cyclone and Avalanche. However, the fuel tanks are 36 gallons. Hope this helps.

You could always do some custom work and get larger tanks put in on your own. rather than settle for a 35 or 40 gallon tank, get one made to hold 50 or 60 gallons. it would also be added ballast when full.

My buddy has a supra ssv, rides around the bay down here in Florida and occasionally takes it 50 miles round trip to Pensacola beach on the intracoastal side. It handles the rough water pretty well. I still think my 20' I/O handles it better but he had a moomba d drive before and it was a turd in rough water.
