Some nice looking trucks here!

maxx_wake 06-07-2007 12:52 PM

07 Sierra 1500 with 5.3

I get a little over 17 for both city and highway. I think I could get 19 or 20 on the highway if I drove around 65 but the displacement on demand thing rarely if ever switches to 4 cylinders at 70 mph or above.

I havent checked it towing yet but I am guessing around 12 or 13.

timmyb 06-07-2007 12:59 PM

All I know is that my 20" wheels kill the power in my truck...they must weigh 20 to 30 lbs more than the stockies (17's).

alcarlaw1 06-07-2007 1:26 PM

Audi A4 Avant, gets around 50mpg on the open road and 30mpg when towing!
Fuel is so expensive here you need something that is frugal...

ryanbush11 06-11-2007 1:53 AM

I will have to call BS on the 17 while towing, I've been around diesels all my life, we've had new ford, chevy, and dodge diesels and i've never seen any of them get above 14 pulling.

nice to see people not BS'ing here for the most part. There was a similar thread on the MC forum and tons of people were claiming to get 15-18 MPG towing with run of the mill V8 trucks.

tyboarder03 06-18-2007 7:55 PM
