What's the purpose of having 2 DVD drives? <BR> <BR>1.44 mb floppy drive? (they still put those in PC's???)

ones a ROM and ones a RW copying dvds mostly put it there for boot purposes in case of a crash

Dell stopped selling their desktop PCs with 1.44 floppies about 1 year ago so unless you really need a floppy drive I wouldn't bother. <BR> <BR>For a dual proc setup I would take a look at the Thermaltake Xaser III Super Tower Chassis. It's bigger than the lian mid tower, but it has a ton of fans, plenty of room, and easy access for a adding new drives. I have this case and it's solid (aluminum door/sides), stays very cool, and is built well. <BR> <BR>It would be interesting to see how fast this machine renders. Let us know how it performs once it's all built.

Unless you're copying a lot of different DVD's I'd question having 2 drives but then again the read only DVD drives are probably so cheap it isn't a big deal cost wise!

rich, <BR> <BR>My only advice is ditch the two 40 you are planning to stripe in favor of 2 bigger drives. They are so cheap and the price difference between a 40 gb and a 120 GB is under $30. I have 2 40gbs stripping at home (bought when they were more expensive) and am planning to swap them out for 120 as I am out of video storage that I used to archive. Also Make sure to buy a GOOD power supply, not a highwattage one but a good one. (Antec True Power is as cheap as I would go. good call for you nick) check out pcpowercooling.com
