Floating box?

Ok, so I was thinking about like making a drop and go box that would be probably 4x8, and I was trying to think about how I'd do it, when I realized that someone else had probably already made a box that you can just throw right onto the water. Does anyone know if that is manufactured or if it would just be easier to home-make it?

would probly be easier to home make it. I would use some type of foam, in a frame made of pressure treated 2x4 with a top sheet of UHMPE

somethin like that would work. 8ft seems pretty short, why not make (2) 2x8 ft boxes that you can do some time of track to slide them together, and then a on 2 places from each box attatch a string with a bag of led or rocks to work as a weight to keep the boxes oriented correctly.

canoe and large tube wont get any cheaper. If your looking for something less janky disregard my comment.

I built something similar but for a different purpose. I built a floating flip cup table to put next to the dock for parties. The dimensions are 30" x 7'. It has a 2x4 frame with 1" of foam on the bottom and a plywood top. I then filled the interior with great stuff foam. It provides enough flotation for me to stand on it. I think for your application if you bumped up the framing to at least 2x8 you could get the flotation your looking for. I would also use plastic instead of plywood for the top like what was suggested.
