Help choosing a board or two
1 Attachment(s)
So - the family is getting more into wakesurfing. This is out first season - last winter I picked up a CWB Ride to get everyone started. We've got a Sanger V230 and, with some weight in the starboard locker and my home made gate, we've got a decent wave going.
The kids can all go ropeless with no issues - I've been close and figure I'll get there with more time out - but I'm wondering if I'm on the right board. I'm 6'-4" and around 210#. I've read a bit that the Inland Surfer Red Rocket is a good board for someone my size - and other thoughts or suggestions? How about for the kids (ages 11-16)? My middle son (13) is probably most active on the board - and I think the CWB Ride is too slow and bulky for him. He's around 5'-4" and 110# or so. Thanks . . . here's the wave - |
not as tall but im......5'10.. and ride a 4'5" Doomswell custom....dont think you have to get a big board...you just need a fast one to stay up with the wave.
Call Brock at Doomswell he will help you out 409-692-6363 |
For you sons you want to look at a Shred Stixx Skywalker for off-shelf boards. These may be out of stock, right now.
Otherwise, a number of companies can make them a custom fitted board, but these will be more expensive than the Skywalker in general. A custom board will run you from $600 to $800. There are not a lot of model boards that are sized for youth. An inland flyboy is a possibility but kinda pricey, and still a bit big for your sons. Also, I think it is out of stock. It is my understanding the Red Rocket is completely out of stock, and no more will be produced in 2013. Consider a Shred Stixx Big Chief, Airstream/Piranha, or Headband, as alternatives. You can PM me and I am happy to talk to you about setting up your family with a couple custom boards that they will all love and progress on. Nick Wiersema 5127992153 |

I'll look into both - and Nick - I'm going to look around but might get a hold of you to talk a custom board . . . |
You got a thread going on your gate? Any pics?
