is this sac durable? am i going to have to worry about it bursting or splitting or springing leaks or even fin cuts?

or am i better off getting a covered bag? i have been partial to the letsgoride, but want one with two holes.

The sack is super strong. You won't have to worry about seems busting. As for fins, I think Every sack out the will get broke if stabbed just right. We have big bumps in out V drive compartment and there are some hose camps I was worrying about but the sack shows no damage after 4 months.
