Found a 2003 Supra 22SSV with 358 hours. 325HP EFI, 2 tanks, Trim tabs, PP the list goes on. Here is the link http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/5/8/89689558.htm
we are tring to find something to replace a 2004 Harris Kayout V220 and a sea doo RXP. We think we should be able to trade even up.

That is a pretty good price. The only thing I would worry about is if he leaves it in the water during the summer. Make sure you check the bottom of that boat first ( gel coat ). Also make sure the V-drive is not leaking oil. I have had 5 boats with Walther V-drives and all but one had a gasket that was leaking. It is usually the bottom gasket where the oil sits. All of my boats were less than 3 years old as well.

The boat is at a dealer, so I don't know if it's in the water all the time, but I will check. Where should we look? Where the trans and motor join?
I just did NADA and it says $36-$41.

that is a sick deal, if i didn't have a 2001 i would buy it

99_slaunch 08-03-2007 8:49 PM

That is a sweet deal! Good find.

Nathan,
Usually the Tranny and Engine are solid and do not leak. The Vrive unit will be the closest unit to the gas tank. Run your hand underneath that V-Drive unit and see if it leaking oil.
At that price it is still a great deal even if it is leaking oil. You can call Walther direct and get gaskets and seal for about $40 . The install is a little hard but doable.

That seems to be a great deal. If i were closer i would go buy it myself.

That seems like one of those 'too good to be true' deals. A 2003 Vdrive boat with low hours for 27k. I wonder if anything is wrong with it? It used to be that the only affordable vdrives were the old 205Vs and Super sports.

This boat is at my dealership. I took it on trade. Functionally it is good boat. Engine, drivetrain and pumps and everything work good. It is priced based on condition it has some scratches and abrasions in the hull sides and we replaces the interior. It is a nice boat and somebody will really enjoy it.

dreamer69 08-04-2007 2:18 PM

We went and looked at the boat today. It is pretty nice, a couple of spot that concerned us. We made a deal, But dad needs to talk it over with my mom first. she wants to wait until next year to trade, but we think we can talk her into it.

dreamer69 08-04-2007 2:54 PM

"Ora" Can you tell me why the boat is advertised with "358 hours on this motor"? When the boat shows 1100 and some. Was the engine replaced? If so, did your dealership replace it? and when?
thanks. we were the one there today and test drove it.

three6ty 08-04-2007 5:00 PM

Red Flags!!!!!!!!!!!!

three6ty 08-04-2007 5:01 PM

Take it to an Indmar Service Mechanic. ( any Malibu, Supra, Mastercraft dealer with a service station.
They can hook it up to the computer and it will tell you just how many hours there are on the motor

tyler97217 08-04-2007 9:56 PM

yeah if you are serious about the boat have a tech hook up a computer to the ECM and see how many true hours are on it.... appartently even leaving the key to acc can rack up hours on some boats.... if it really is a clean boat it would be a great deal, but do your homework and look it over and have someone else look it over...

dreamer69 08-05-2007 10:54 AM

New info as of today: Motor has 358 hours. It was replaced. Boat owned by a pro wakeboarder as his personal boat, he also gave lesson. So the rest of the boat has 1100 hours. Should this scare us away from buying it?

wakeslife 08-05-2007 11:00 AM

Probably ran a bunch of ballast coming from a pro-used boat, leading to the engine replacement.

three6ty 08-05-2007 1:58 PM

RUN!!!!!

99_slaunch 08-05-2007 7:14 PM

What about all the people on here who slam there boats and sell them on ww. I have not heard any one say run from those boats. It's more like that boat throws a killer wake with 2500lbs. I would definitely have some one check out the boat just to be safe.

mike_gilbert 08-05-2007 9:04 PM

Aaron most of those slammed boats for sale on ww dont have 1100 hours and replaced engines. I would stay away from this one its only trouble, there is always a reason why a certain product is cheaper than the others and usually it has to do with its condition or quality

(Message edited by mike_gilbert on August 05, 2007)
