hey guys, my spedometer works like c***, the speed indicated changes while the boat speed is constant, also is very inacurate. What could be the problem? maybe the thing that is under the boat that picks the speed? do you have any reccomendation on a special brand or system? thanks!

ps, my boat is an outboard :-) and im not sure if the spedometer/thing that picks the waterspeed is good.

You either have a small paddle wheel attached to the transom or in a thru hull fitting, or more likely a small plastic nozzle looking thing on your transom with a black 1/4" hose coming off it. It is a water pickup, and sometimes the little hole gets clogged. Pull off the black tube and clean out the hole, compressed air, straight pin, whatever.
If it's a paddle wheel, check to make sure it is not damaged and that it spins.
Good luck!

Worst of all you may have the pick up in the lower unit of the outboard
