Need to replace head unit Kenwood kdc-225mr
 

But want to still be able to us the transom and drivers remote. Has anyone replaced their head unit and were you still able to use the existing remotes? The main reason I'm replacing it, is there is a loose connection inside where the speakers plug into the head unit. I would also like to be able to plug the I-pod directly into the head unit. I'm open to any suggestions.

check out the KMR-440 or 330. I just got the 440 and its got external remote wires. Call Kenwood and see if it is the same or if they have an adapter for it.
