I know mastercraft did in 84 and think nautique in 90??? What about malibu sunsetter and supra sunsport?

i believe Malibu and Supra both went all glass in '93. what is your budget? older Supra Sunsports throw a nice surf wake.

To answer the original question in the post "when did older boats quit using wood stringers?" And Bocephus's resonse "Sanger never did....Sanger Rules!" Bocephus is correct, Sanger never quit using wood stringers. This is probably because they were one of the few companies that was able to use wood successfully. You rarely if ever hear of stringer problems with Sangers. And if you have ever ridden in one you would know that they are extrememly solid boats

Sanger uses a special kind of wood that has been poisoned so that it will not rot

Sanger also knows how to make things that stay together under stress and load...from their drag boat heritage.
