my wife says the water level is too low on our local lake, and she does not want to try to put the boat in the water. Other lakes may be better but are too far away to go after my son gets out of school.

I say the weather is still good, so we should figure out a solution. She says their is no solution, that some day we would have to decide the season is over. To me it is over when i get hypothermia. I don't want to hurt the boat, but the water level is a bit of a challenge when it comes to launching the boat.

Maybe i should take a shovel and get rid of the sand bar behind the launch caused by boats powering up the ramp. I need a driver, but she refuses to go.

What do you recommend? I can't wait until my 7 year old is capable of driving the boat.

Soon the rains will return. Bummer.

I still ride at American and will continue to ride through the winter. Could be lookin at puttin together a winter crew. Gonna ride sunday mornin at 6 am if you wanna roll. We'll be on the Tillicum side around 6am. Hit me up 906-4938
I cant wait till my sons old enough to drive either!

I'd take you up on the offer, but it's too late now to get prepped. we had moorage on Fort Lewis but i gave it up in early summer when the weather was so cruddy.

i want to try and ride through most of the winter too. i figure i can improve a bunch of in the winter, since i won't be out to just hang out on the lake. Maybe we could work something out in regards to your winter crew. I'm pretty unskilled, my wife is much better.

What kind of boat do you have?

John

(Message edited by johnbowen on September 17, 2005)

(Message edited by johnbowen on September 17, 2005)

It's o.k just thought I'd throw it out there. Maybe next time. I did alot of just hangin out this summer. Water would get so tore up that it wasn't even worth gettin out. I've got an 02 Cally Pro V.

johnbowen 09-18-2005 6:29 AM

i remember seeing your boat out there. Didn't you usually have about ten people in your boat? THe water was crap most of the time it seemed. i'm hoping this Fall it will be better.

I've got a black/red Supra. Almost always I'm out there with my wife and 7 year old (little red headed guy on a yellow liquid force board).
He loves to wave at all the boats, so you might have seen him.

We'll have to hook up this Fall/winter. My wife says she is interested too. Do you ride with any girls on board?

john30 09-18-2005 10:53 AM

Yeah that would be me. I've got the funkinated tower with the "deer antler board racks" on top. No not yet. Your welcome to bring the wife along. This mornin was pretty lame, the fog rolled in thick and I got about a 20 min run. Two others in the boat just bagged it. We put in around 6:30 and waited till about 8 at my buddies dock. Hang on to my number, maybe leave me yours and I'll call next time we hit it.

john30 09-18-2005 10:55 AM

Oh yeah bring your boy too!

John,

My son and I would be interested in some winter riding if you have room. Or you can come down to Olympia and ride behind my V210. Send me an email if you need a third or if you want to come down to Olympia, We rode until the end of Nov and started back up in Feb.

Kim,

If you don't mind the drive you can come down and ride in Olympia.

thanks,
Bob

End of season in Seattle...

End of Wallyville season maybe. The start of pure butter season for the NWHC.

Anytime you feel like heading up to Lake Sammamish this fall/winter pm me, and we'll hook up.

girlwhoboards 09-19-2005 4:23 PM

email me cliff if you need a third too.

thanks,
-Kim

jeffr 09-19-2005 4:35 PM

Keep it down Cliff.....

Didn't you see the news report last night....
Yes it is the end of the season in Seattle... now that you mention it... Lake Sammamish is officially closed!

Now if only I had a dollar for every time I heard “Yeah… I’m down to ride in the winter”

The benefit of riding in the winter is having your own lake.

greg2 09-19-2005 6:29 PM

I'm across the state in Spokane, but I would be interested in a winter ride occasionally if any of you have room for a third. This will be my first winter in WA, and I hear the season will be over on the east side in a few weeks. We're still out, but I'm not sure for how long??

Greg

liveoz 09-19-2005 6:34 PM

Might be able to help you out, I think homeowners get to use the lake all winter. It's just all the public ramps are closed now for the winter due to snow and ice.

john30 09-19-2005 8:29 PM

I dont mind taking ppl with, but most shy away from the 6 am ride time. As it gets colder I'll start boarding later...like @ 7-8am but 6 am gives me time to hang with my wife and kids afterwards. Bob lets hook up! Kim if you wanna make the trek you're welcome to ride. I'm gonna ride again 6 am this weekend either sat or sun. One of these days I'm coming up north....maybe I can ride with you NWHC guys! Or you can ride with me.

johnbowen 09-19-2005 9:31 PM

i ride pretty much any day of the week that i can work it out. I work as a firefighter in Seattle, so i'm gone for 8 days of the month, but home for 22, in most instances.

We plan on riding on American Lake as late as possible. I sent you a message Kim.

John, do you put in at Tillicum on American Lake? How do you get around that huge sandbar just to the rear of the ramp from people powering up onto their trailers? I'm thinking about taking a shovel and spending some time getting rid of it.

john30 09-20-2005 5:24 AM

I thought about doing the same thing John. Lately I've been using the ramp to the left (as your looking at the water) and I back most of the way in then I cut the wheel and turn the trailer so that I'm to the left of that berm. I just make sure my rudder is straight every time I back in. Usually dont scrape. I gotta say though John you work a killer shift! I think if a person was to do any work on the launch it would have to be soon cause the waters gonna start getting colder.

girlwhoboards 09-20-2005 10:21 AM

JohnS or anyone on here i don't mind driving and i'm used to hitting it at 5-7isham so just send me mail please and i can get you my number. are you all on my nw wake list?

thanks,
-Kim
