This post serves as a purpose for me to do some research on building a winch. What I am looking for from you all in this WW community is to post up any websites which have detailed self-built winch development plans and/or pictures along with specific measurements and such. I don't want this to be a post that people include their pictures of the winch they have. <BR> <BR>I am going to build a winch and wanted to know if anyone has the consolidated type of information that I am looking for instead of spending hours researching on google. The winch will have a ball-mount to add on to my hitch on the truck. I have a list of the materials needed but I'm more so looking for specifications and measurements as well as any build ideas that you have used which turned out to be successful. <BR> <BR>One website I know of is: <a href="http://www.tahitimx.com/winch/" target="_blank">http://www.tahitimx.com/winch/</a> <BR> <BR>I'm going to look at some different ideas for the spool. <BR> <BR>If anyone has detailed information they'd like to share it would be much appreciated. I've begun my quest of research thusfar but knew I could save some time by reaching out to those who have already completed the task. (this is what a good manager does, he finds the people who do the work best and gains their knowledge, among delegating but I will be doing the work.) <--not intended to be egotistical, just a funny way of saying I find the right people with the right knowledge.. <BR> <BR>If you can point me to another site or have some documents you can share that would be great! <BR> <BR>Thanks to anyone who replies with valuable intel.
