do you think they will warranty this?

i know its an '08 but i cant remember if CWB has a 1 year or a 2 year warranty. i went riding on sunday, and when i was putting on my bindings for the first run of the day. i went to tighten it up, and snap. the lace on my binding broke off without hardly pulling on it at all. here are some pics. what do you guys think i should do?

the bindings are 08 cwb answer ltds.

Just buy some tramping laces and re-lace them. The stock laces are less than useless, mine break after 4-5 rides

dakid 06-01-2010 11:10 PM

you want them to replace your bindings because of busted laces? i doubt anyone would replace 08 bindings with new ones for busted laces. ask for new laces.

aces6692 06-01-2010 11:14 PM

no no, i didnt mean replace the whole binding, i just meant the lace ha. sorry if thats how it sounded. i just cant remember if the warranty is 1 or 2 years. or even if it is out of warranty would they send me some laces. it looks like the other one is starting to go as well.

dakid 06-01-2010 11:16 PM

just buy some new laces, like darren suggested, and you won't have to wait for an answer from cwb. problem solved.

An Army Surplus store will have what you need. Ours has about 10 different color options as well.

silvermustang35 06-02-2010 6:25 AM

Yup, Army surplus store or even grocery store for boot strap laces....My Zeus laces have broken 3 times so far and I moved to the boot lace....they dont give out now...

jarrod 06-02-2010 6:36 AM

These guys are right, but if you want original laces, your logo proshop should have replacements in stock for all boots.

cwb4me 06-02-2010 6:48 AM

laces would cost less than ups to send them to washington

mc_x15 06-02-2010 7:13 AM

Round skate laces work great too. Tough to get back through the little clasp holder but stay tight perfectly.

aces6692 06-02-2010 11:19 AM

cool, thanks guys. ha sorry if it was a dumb question, just hasnt happened before, wasnt sure if regular laces would fit through the clip to cinch them up.

silvermustang35 06-02-2010 11:27 AM

They will be tighter to fit through but it will work better and grip better. I had an issue of it actually pulling the stretch part apart and keeping the main line inside and it wouldnt grip.

Call CWB. 425-775-5416 and ask for the white laces. We have them!

mofreestyle 06-02-2010 9:22 PM

CWB will hook you up free of charge. I got some new laces for my 08's the other day.

ralph 06-02-2010 9:32 PM

But the stock ones blow, too thin so they slip and if you like to crank your bindings and ride with a bit of power they blow out real quick. The thicker tramping laces stay tighter and are much more robust. I modified my boots to a once lace system where you only have one set to pull and lock per boot, it works really well.

aces6692 06-02-2010 10:19 PM

thanks matt, i'll give them a call in the morning. mine have lasted me for 2 years, so im not too worried about them breaking again, so if these last another 2 ears i'll be ready for some new bindings anyway. thanks for the tips on the other laces tho, if these snap fast i'll switch to those.

chaser 06-03-2010 11:18 AM

I had to google "tramping" to figure out what the heck ya all were talking about. :) So basically round boot laces work well?

FYI:
Tramping is the New Zealand term for what other countries may call bushwalking, hiking or rambling.

Michael 06-03-2010 12:02 PM

dude just rip the old laces out and put snowboard boot laces on. thats what i use on my slingshot bindings. i hate when the laces come loose

mike2001 06-03-2010 1:47 PM

2nd CWB helping out, I ripped mine and they sent me a pair, no questions asked

aces6692 06-03-2010 2:51 PM

just called them, they said they'll get them sent to me asap. thanks for the help guys, and thanks for the number matt. i think if these snap again tho i will just go with tramping laces. thanks guys
