Well finally, I had a great weekend of wakeboarding. Perfect weather, glassy water, and lots of fun (and pics). Also managed to make 6 new converts to wakesurfing:

Trevor

Christian

Scott

Beth

Andrew

A little evening surf session for Todd

Friday at San V was incredible (at least by San Diego standards). No wind and only 2 boats at 8am.

And even got Dave Williams out for a little wakesurfing at San V on Friday

Bill, I see Trevor with the phase 5, Was this the weekend you and David were gonna try it? If so, how'd you guys do?

buttacup 10-13-2003 7:38 PM

Nice pics bill.

Dave- you look like you're in deep thought there.

Dave let me take the phase 5 and the LF skimskate to the river - so we had 5 different wakesurf boards with us! It wasn't an official test, just a chance to check out the board.
Thats either the best or second best "wave" I've seen. Is that the Tige? Got details? scott

sdboardr99 10-14-2003 11:44 AM

Actually it was a little smaller than usual in those pics due to the shallow water. Tige 20v with about 700# of water ballast in the left rear trunk, TAPS at 8 @ 9.5mph.

right on Bill, and then....??? ...

I wasn't sure if it was an official test...I don't want to be too pushy, but I (and so many others) really value your opinion and so I kinda wanted to hear what you thought.

On the other hand...
Will there be an official test?
thanks...

I think Dave may be waiting until he gets more of the 2004 boards in, or maybe he's waiting until he has more time. Hopefully we can do it before it gets too cold!
Don't be getting too happy with my Phase 5 board Bill!

stormrider 10-14-2003 4:27 PM

Bill, thanks for taking my kid (Christian) out-- even if it is going to cost me cuz junior will now want a wakesurfing board!

wakepaula 10-15-2003 1:27 PM

Yeah, what did you think of that Phase 5 and what board caught your fancy? So far, I dig on the Broadcast. Todd's slick little pro-model is a ton of fun too!

pretty_boy 10-18-2003 1:14 PM

Hey Bill thanks for the pick. And yes I did bug my
dad the moment I got back in my boat.

sdboardr99 10-18-2003 1:37 PM

Christian, you're welcome. I hope your ear is healing quickly so you can get back out on the water while the weather is still warm!

Paula,
The Phase 5 requires more work to stay in the slot. I can see why it can be thrown and you could pull shovit 180's and 360's. But we're not all at that skill level. I prefer the Broadcast over the Phase 5 mainly because how fast it is and how easy it gets you back into the right spot. But maybe I just suck! Lol!

sdboardr99 10-19-2003 1:02 AM

Paula got a chance to try out the Phase 5 yesterday and she did pretty well on it. No shuvits just yet, but she was able to throw the rope and stay in the pocket pretty well. But then she weighs about 60# less than us big guys.
