Although I'm not a personal friend, an acquaintance, or even a Ride the Spot alumnus, congratulations
to the Shapiros! Most of us can probably look back to great childhood memories of being with pops and
the family, out on the boat, doing whatever. Can you imagine the memories that baby Shapiro will one day look
back upon? Awesome.

alliecat0223 10-12-2007 9:57 AM

Congrats I hope you guys have a safe and healthy little one. We know the little one will have a lot of adopted aunts and uncles with all the family and friends that both are close too.

Darin and Heather, congratulations on baby boy Shapiro! I know he will be another awesome Shapiro in this sport in the years to come! Thanks so much for the great work you have done with Jeffrey, you have taught him so much in such a short time and for that we are very thankful to you. Again congrats to you and to Heather and can't wait to meet Baby Boy Shapiro!!!

Congrats to Darin and Heather.

A friend of mine and I went to RTS in Orlando in July of 2006 and had an amazing time. We were both new to wakeboarding and we got loads of time with Darin in a one on one environment. It was literally my friend and Darin and I in the boat...great personal attention! I would recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to RTS in Kauai too!

mjmurphy53711 10-26-2007 3:26 PM

That is really cool that as Darin's riding winds down he could potentially start riding through his son.

I have a son on the way in January (my first) and I am not sure how soon he will be on a wakeboard but I can tell you he will be riding the mountain by the age of two!

harry_hoediono 11-30-2007 7:58 AM

Darin and Heather - congratulations on your good news!

Our family really enjoyed meeting you both and all five of us learned so much from our time at Ride The Spot in Orlando. We couldn't believe that our son Alex would ever be able to do an invert - but to learn three different ones in three days was thrilling.

You guys are super patient and Darin - the boys really respect you because you do every trick that you teach and you are so humble.

All your gear was top notch and thanks for helping us pick out our own. We all tried out our new skills when we got back home to Canada.

Anyway, we can hardly wait to learn more when we see you in Acapulco.

Hey Darin - can an old guy like me learn an invert?

thanks

Harry, Helen, Caley, Alex and Nik

hawaiianstiln 11-30-2007 3:32 PM

Nice post Ryan! Congrats Darin, you're gonna have a little Keiki Kamaaina now!! Wooo Hoooo

Dude, it's been a while, but you and I were trying to run down all those wild chickens around during the 2004 US open on the Wailua river. Why did we do that, no idea! but it was funny!
