Just got home from a week at The Boarding School. Not only did I have a great time, but I got the help I was looking for. The camp is small, just 5 of us, and very relaxed. There is a lot of personal attention, and I thought the coaching was superb. The advise given was presented at exactly the right level for each person, and was very precise and consistent. You can ride as much as you want, and everyone got as much as they could handle. You ride on a chain of lakes connected by short canals, so there is almost always great water available. In a week of riding we didn't see one other boat using any of the lakes we were on except a couple of fishermen. On top of all that, I got to hang out on the boat with Shaun Murray, Travis Moye and Robbie Jacques. And, riding doubles with Shaun is the bomb. All in all, living a dream. If you are looking for a camp like that, check out The Boarding School.

Very cool, glad you had a great time! I can promise President Obama that if he sent some 'Bailout' money my way, I would be sure to spend it and get a new setup then show up at The Boarding School

As Shaun would prefer one to say, "Not yet." It was fun to watch though. We had some people who had to leave a bit early on Friday, so by the time we got to barefooting there was just one 18 yo from Canada willing to give it a go. The rest of us died laughing watching that process. He made it on about the 5th try. 1 thru 4 were very memorable. Maybe I'll give it a go if I'm in better shape next time.

I wrecked myself barefooting at The Boarding School worse than I ever did in a week of riding there

how old do you have to be?

ldebbold 03-31-2009 3:07 PM

Hey Zack, nice profile pic. I don't know what the age limits are, but my group consisted of an 11 yo return camper from last year, a sixteen yo, two 18 yo guys, one of their 45 yo dads, and me at 59. I suspect you would just have to have your parent sign a waiver, but just go to their website and contact them. Travis will get right back to you.
