2008 x35 on Ebay for buy it now of $47,500 - seems like a fraud price but add looks for real. What do you think?

supra 03-10-2009 4:38 PM

Need to see the link..

chuckc983 03-10-2009 4:39 PM

that would help... <BR> <BR> <BR><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=130292778590&amp;c ategory=63686&amp;viewitem=" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=130292778590&amp;c ategory=63686&amp;viewitem=</a>

canecorso 03-10-2009 4:44 PM

id contact the seller, thats a killer deal. <BR>If its real tell him you will pay when you get there, that keeps you safe

dabell 03-10-2009 4:46 PM

The guy has 119 remarks for him with 100% positive feedback. Seems legit to me considering the state of the economy right now.

hatepain 03-10-2009 5:23 PM

Looks legit and I say run and buy it.

colombiansurfer 03-10-2009 5:29 PM

I heard on the Clark Howard show that @$$whipes are selling cheap stuff and purchasing cheap stuff to get there rating up. Once they do, then they bring out the heavy deals and run away with your money. I would as to see it in person and see what kind of feed back you get. I just had a guy that wanted pics of my boat and he was very detailed about what he wanted pics of. I never sent them in since it was a foreign account. I just knew he was going to post my boat on some scam.

tpj 03-10-2009 6:12 PM

it seems kind of weird because the description is only two lines and it says its an inboard outboard that holds 31-40 gallons of gas...

ttuclint 03-10-2009 6:19 PM

" There has been no problems and is great conditions. " <BR> <BR> <BR>scam.

joshugan 03-10-2009 6:27 PM

^^^ Exactly, but it's actually worse: <BR> <BR>"There is no problems and has been on lift at the lake house. There has been no problems and is great conditions." <BR> <BR>Definite scam.

dabell 03-10-2009 6:45 PM

Picking apart the ad is one thing and can be done easily with anyone. Email more specific questions and don't send money until you can confirm that he is the owner of the boat. With any sale, you still have to verify stuff. $.02

packrat 03-10-2009 6:48 PM

Ask for the trailer license and hull id # and what state it is registered in.

mikes 03-10-2009 7:24 PM

TX9970AS. Clealy visible in first pic. <BR> <BR> Wasn't there a recent thread on here about being able to track owner info thru a Texas reg# ? Well, there you go.... Use it to your advantage.

dukeno1 03-10-2009 8:22 PM

Seems legit to me...i did the search on the vessel numbers and the owners name is the same as his ebay handle....

fullspeed 03-10-2009 8:55 PM

Here is what you do. Send him an email through "ask the seller a Question" and say that you live near by and that you want to see it. If it is a scam you will not get an email back. <BR> <BR>The feedback @ 119 is hard to get and pretty much a lot of time just to screw someone over on a boat. Your not going to send him a suitcase full of money and hope the guy delivers it. I sure it is legit.

03-10-2009 9:01 PM

dude has been a member since 99

mikeporter2000 03-10-2009 9:13 PM

Definitely let us know what you find out becuase that is a very good deal. I would buy that boat now if I knew it was real.

roverjohn 03-10-2009 9:17 PM

$40k with no bids but the reserve has not been met. Who knows if it's a good deal? Is $47K BIN really THAT good of a deal or owner just wanting to maintain equity? <BR> <BR>(Message edited by roverjohn on March 10, 2009)

lifetimewarranty 03-10-2009 9:20 PM

Yeah- I actually agree with you for once John. This could go WAY up.

w00taz 03-10-2009 9:45 PM

Likely no trailer? That'd be a few thousand alone on a boat that big? <BR> <BR>A deal like this I would negotiate offline. Ask to preview on the water or in real life then work out the details face to face paper in hands. My dad knows people who do high end car deals they usually nullify the auction and work out a deal later on cash/title kinda deal (oldschool?). Could be the deal of the year someone selling for what they owe the bank to get rid of payments who knows.

bfnaci 03-10-2009 10:18 PM

Guys, <BR>I looked at a 22' MC this last summer and they wanted $100k for the X Star. <BR>What would that 24' go for?

mikeporter2000 03-10-2009 11:08 PM

Check out the "buy it now". It's only $47k. The list price on that boat is like $115k.

w00taz 03-10-2009 11:21 PM

check my post in: <BR><a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/676785.html?1236750498" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/676785.html?1236750498</a>

roverjohn 03-11-2009 5:48 AM

I had no idea that thing would list for over 100K. That's quite a hit for a one year old boat.

tampawake 03-11-2009 6:45 AM

I know someone that just bought a loaded up 2008 210 sante for 35k brand new. People have to unload over head even at a loss

formfunction 03-11-2009 7:00 AM

Let me ask a question, what happens to the price of that boat in a few years? Is the new owner going to make a profit or will the value stay low?

wake1823 03-11-2009 7:07 AM

^^^ U buy this boat at the BIN price, hold for 1-2 years, keep in good condition and decent hours, you WILL make money when you sell it.

jclay5 03-11-2009 8:27 AM

It looks like they changed the description today and it does have a trailer..

wstr01 03-11-2009 8:29 AM

His name is on the sales sheet. He paid $67,400. Trade in credit of $37,500. Financed $32,230.53. Bought it on 6/3/08 so he's made a few payments on probably just the interest. He probably still owes $32K on it. If he sells it for $47,500 he puts $15,500 in his pocket. Maybe just needs cash like a lot of people nowadays. He's been selling a bunch of golf clubs and has been a member since 99. <BR> <BR>I would buy it, but I would pay for it in person. You normally have 7 days to pay, unless otherwise stated (he didn't specify), so that would be plenty of time to take a road trip and check it out. For $47K I can drive for a day or two to check things out.

jaubrey 03-11-2009 8:45 AM

Wow. If thats legit it is the deal of the century.

bmartin 03-11-2009 9:28 AM

If if is real they will let you or your 'agent' look at it without requiring some sort of money transfer ahead of time. Do you know someone in TX to scope it out for you? I'm sure a fellow WW would do it as a favor or for some nominal fee.

insuranceman 03-11-2009 9:38 AM

looks like someone already bought it.

lifetimewarranty 03-11-2009 9:54 AM

Seller ended early. Possibly sold local.

wakex2wake 03-11-2009 9:56 AM

great deal... MCX is small for this boat i think

roverjohn 03-11-2009 9:58 AM

Possibly a WW reader who now thinks he should relist at a higher price<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

gregg_rossi 03-11-2009 10:14 AM

Man that was a steal at that "buy now" price!

robandrus 03-11-2009 1:37 PM

NEVER BUY A BOAT ON EBAY with out TALKING on the PHONE! <BR> <BR>I should know I lost $2,500 cause a Tige looked like sweet deal. Oh, and never, ever, ever use Western Union.

sidekicknicholas 03-11-2009 1:50 PM

^ i thought that was a given.... so many western union scams... <BR> <BR>and never send to Nigeria

hatepain 03-11-2009 2:22 PM

That was a crazy good deal someones stoked about right now. Congrats to them...

bill_airjunky 03-11-2009 2:43 PM

I think I'd need a lot more than a phone call to drop $2500 on anything. Maybe $100 deposit..... at most. With the prepaid cell phone plans out there it's pretty easy for a hacker to have a phone one day &amp; no contact info a day later. <BR> <BR>Ebay has had issues with accounts being hacked &amp; used to sell things at stupid low prices. Sometimes the hacker will change the contact email address on the account so if you use the "Ask seller a question" link, it sends the message right to the scammer. Other times you will see an email address or phone number in the ad with instructions to contact them directly. <BR> <BR>And I'd certainly use a Visa, MC, AMEX, Paypal, etc. so that if there was a claim I'd have recourse with the credit card company.
