Hyperloop

What are your guys' opinions on the idea of Elan Musk's Hyperloop instead of the High Speed Rail that was published on Monday?
I have been reading a ton about it and I am completely fascinated with it. I'm not a science guy, but this is so cool. I hope it can happen.

Musk's detailed description: http://www.spacex.com/sites/spacex/f...a-20130812.pdf

$6 billion vs $68 billion
or $10 billion to move cars rather than just people.

35 minutes from SF to LA rather vs 2.5 hrs

I'm all for it not to mention CA's HSR is one of the slowest in the world and one of the most expensive. This is new technology and fits that whole innovation hub that our politicians always use as an excuse for increased taxation.

I read a brief review of it and the specs call for the seats to be SMALLER than what you get right now in coach on a plane. Thanks but no thanks.

I think its great. Fat people can drive.
I've been stuck next to a fat dude on a flight and I think its completely wrong that he pays the same as me when his body is forced into my space and it costs the airline more fuel to move him.

Fat dudes can always buy two tickets.
