I found these polished billet battery boxes. They make a model that fits 2 blue tops side by side or 2 end to end. $169.00

http://shopping.rexmar.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BIL120&a mp;Category_Code=batboxbilopt1cov

Those are nice but I like these better. 2 blue tops side by side and then some.

CAR, what kind of charger do you use on those? How long does it take to charge all of them from say 50% back to 100%?

super_air 06-02-2006 2:34 PM

Adam- I have the new Stinger charger that is hooked up to all of the batteries and automatically goes to the next battery after the first one is fully charged, when I get done and off the water I just plug it into an extension chord and unplug it the next morning. Also I have a 140 amp alternator to help out while driving. I never have to start the boat because of low batteries.

super_air 06-05-2006 2:54 PM

CAR/Grant - whats that charger run?

super_air 06-05-2006 3:15 PM

I think it was $200

gundogg 06-05-2006 3:24 PM

That would be much easier than finding one, since Grant and Clay have my boat right now...

lukeduke95 06-05-2006 6:53 PM

Hey CAR,

How exactly does it charge each battery individually? Or did you mean battery banks?

BTW
Almost got that motor finished, we're sand blasting all of the pulleys for a repaint of the entire engine right now. Should be ready in a week or so. Then to make up a stand to break it in on.

JTW I have those REX MARINE battery boxes in my boat they work very well . We used the batterys for ballast and mounted them under the rear hatch behind the rear seat . I got the black anodized units the workmanship is top notch also . Joe

super_air 06-06-2006 3:43 PM

Luke- It might do one bank at a time but it will not over charge one individual battery, when one is fully charged it goes to the next one until all 8 are done, you do need to have the battery selector on both while charging so you could be right about doing it by banks.

Glad to hear you are making progress with the motor, sounds like you are almost ready to put it in the boat, you will be wondering why you didn't do this sooner.

Jasons 209

lukeduke95 06-06-2006 6:33 PM

Grant, nice to see that something was left in Jasons boat.

CAR- I know we have all of the parts for it, just a matter of getting the top end put back together. the shortblock is already tightened up. We are going to break it in on a stand as I would be pissed to have something fail after yanking the other motor out and then mounting this in. Can never trust any of these "new" engine parts!!

super_air 06-07-2006 9:40 AM

Nacho- I made a mistake on the price of the charger, looking over my receipt it was more like $400 some odd dollars, sorry for the confusion.

sangerlover 06-07-2006 5:20 PM

I will drop another one of these battery boxes on the other side and then cleanup all my wiring. These seem like they are very well made.
