I need some kind of spray that is waterproof, non-yellowing, and can protect the Sharpie signature on my board for when I wakeboard.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Take it to an automotive body shop, ask if they'll clear coat your board for $20... and you'll be good to go.

it's called a board rack, usually found in a garage or a mancave.

;)

maybe cal is right, a clear coat would help.

clear nail polish (top coat)?

I would have gone to an automotive shop, but didn't have too much time, so I ended up going to an arts and crafts store to pick up some kind of water based coat that will protect it. The main problem is that some sprays that are acid based can actually dissolve the sharpie which would be a nightmare.

we used clear packing tape. it has lasted 4 years of wakeboarding about 50+ days a year

is it a randy jackson autograph?

benjaminp 03-12-2009 12:05 PM

nick, its a wakeboard, not a sword.
I have heard that clear nail polish works, although the tape seems like a good idea as well.

you can get model car clear coat at any good hobby shop. Good for cheap plastic models, should be for a board

I used this one type of clear coat that I got at an arts and craft store which actually ended up ripping off with the tape which wasn't so hot, but so far after one day the sharpie is still there.

"You're not going to NOT get Randy Jackson's autograph!"
