Dealer wants 50k OTD for an 07 brand new v215. It has the wake package 2, black scorpion 340 hp motor, standard stereo(no tower spkrs). Is this high?

razzman 11-04-2007 7:44 AM

My local dealer was selling 'em in the summer same setup minus the stereo for $42 and that was even probably negotiable so i'd say that's a bit high imo.

parkgirl 11-04-2007 9:39 AM

I WANT to say that is steep, especially for this time of year, but...we paid close to that OTD last year around this time for ours, fully loaded with everything except tower speakers.

$42k sounds a little low, or maybe a base price before options? Im not sure what is in wake package 2, but you got the bigger engine, so that will up it.

Options we got were: racks, chubby tower, cover/bimini, stainless steel billet package/rubrail/swim step, heater, triple ballast, perfect pass, and an all over color gelcoat, which I know ups the price as well.

Sangers are not the "cheaper" boat anymore, but it is worth every penny! We love ours and the wake is incredible.

(Message edited by parkgirl on November 04, 2007)

razzman 11-04-2007 9:48 AM

$42K is what they were selling them for with the triple ballast and the Black Scorp motor with the fiberglass swim platform, no stereo. Had 5-6 on the lot at that price back in July.

parkgirl 11-04-2007 9:58 AM

Was that out the door? If so, thats a steal, did you get one?

(Ours was $42k before extra options and tax/liscensing.)

(Message edited by parkgirl on November 04, 2007)

rallyart 11-04-2007 10:00 AM

Add extra for the 340 scorpion instead of the 330hp.

ralph 11-04-2007 11:33 AM

Thats a fair to good price with the 6.2l motor IMO

luvsanger 11-04-2007 11:46 AM

i;m with Darren. Pretty good price. Go for it!

sidekicknicholas 11-04-2007 12:48 PM

seems pretty high to me too....let it sit on his lot for a while then come back 5 grand cheaper

westsiderippa 11-04-2007 10:18 PM

that price sounds ok to me but to give a comp, i bought my 06 v215 last november and it was looooaaddddeeeeddd, black scorp, chubby tower, lightning racks, tower mirror, 3 speed heater, wake series 2 (tripple ballest) billet/stainless package, bow filler, wind dam, fiber glass swim deck, upgraded trailer, full system, all polk audio, 2 jl amps, tower speakers, sub, bow speakers, tower lights, and more i cant remember, 6 year warranty, the gel coat colors i wanted and it was all for 50k OTD. so thats what i got for ya, good luck.

burn229 11-04-2007 10:30 PM

Im in Denver so I think I will let it sit on the lot for a few months. I thought it sounded high too. Lol, no one over here is going to buy a boat at this time of year. Sucks though because they are the only Sanger dealer in Colorado and next closest is Utah. I also dont mind driving a 1k miles to get a good deal either. Where is a good place to get a deal on a Sanger farther west form Colorado?

westsiderippa 11-04-2007 10:52 PM

if you want to come to the bay area i can promise you will find a better deal.

deltariderscom 11-05-2007 7:59 AM

Burn,

There are a few things that you need to look into to see if it is a fair price or a little steep. Wake II will have triple ballast and different graphic choices ($1200 add). Base price is (about) 39.999 that is white hull with 315 motor and not tower, just enough to turn the key and go. Black scorpion (330hp is not a big price increase) but the 6.1 340hp jumps up, if it has bimini, tower, racks, depth finder, stereo, billet package, hydraulic wake plate, heater, gel color, your price climbs quickly. $50K OTD is a good price, especially since it has the 340 in it. Fully loaded with the 330hp would run you 50K before tax and license.

burn229 11-05-2007 4:05 PM

Thanks DRA that makes snese.

westsiderippa 11-05-2007 4:39 PM

i left out the most important piece of equipment, perfect pass and i had a depth finder. here is a pic of my old girl, she was a great boat, you wont go wrong with a sanger!

ralph 11-05-2007 7:04 PM

westsiderippa 11-05-2007 7:15 PM

So bryan now that you've had both is it true what the sanger guys say. "A sanger is every bit as good as a VLX, even with a better wake in my opinion". Not sure if that's exactly the way it was worded but what do you think?

fatsac 11-06-2007 9:34 AM

That's what I was thinking, Nu Bu. I hate to high jack but give us a run down, Bryan.
Quality? How do the wakes compare?

madvlin 11-06-2007 12:50 PM

LITTLE HIGH WORK EM A LITTLE

kinger 11-06-2007 1:00 PM

In Southern California, you can get that same set up for about 3K less, I almost went that route, so I guess it depends on supply & demand in your area.

ralph 11-06-2007 1:46 PM

"A sanger is every bit as good as a VLX, even with a better wake in my opinion"

I can't compare a V215 with a VLX but I can a V210.

IMO the V210 wake with our std "Stock" (1800 pd) setup is better than a VLX with anything below 4 tank stock + 1000 pounds and wedge. Beyond that the VLX gets bigger and better. V210 uses about 1/2 the gas of a similar sized VLX wake. If you want to run a giant sized wake and are prepared to pay then it is hard to beat the VLX IMO, For an everyday meaty wake the V210 is economical to run and fun to drive.

Build quality of the Sanger is exceptional, super solid, old school Nautique style. I would need to own a VLX before commenting on its build quality.

mtpockets 11-06-2007 3:36 PM

burn I have one here (2007) in nor cal with ultimate pkg, triple ballast, chubby, trim plate, deck w/four,bimini,scorp,and cover for $44,860.38 OTD. The boat has 4 hours and is grey and white. I can send pics if you want

burn229 11-06-2007 4:23 PM

yeah, send them to the email address in my profile.

montana_sanger 11-14-2007 9:39 AM

As a dealer I can tell you that is a fair price although it would be nice to know more of the options and upgrades as they can add up.Did I mention no sales tax Montana .......

ralph 11-17-2007 2:45 PM

Bryan, are you going to compare and contrast the V215 to the VLX for us?

westsiderippa 11-17-2007 3:08 PM

sorry, i forgot, bump......give me till tomorrow, so what have you decided burn?

burn229 11-18-2007 6:49 PM

Yeah my girlfriend is from Belt, Mt and I went to school in Bozeman. I live in Denver now. I most likely be registering the boat in MT because of the no sales tax lol. Is there a Sanger dealer in Montana?

As far as a decision, I have not decided. It's hard to pull a trigger on a boat at the start of winter in Colorado but its a buyers market now.

(Message edited by burn229 on November 18, 2007)

rallyart 11-18-2007 7:01 PM

There is a dealer in MT but I don't know the name. If you fill in Sanger's form on the website looking for a Montana dealer I'm sure you'll get a call from them in the next couple of days.
