Has anyone tried this before. I just wanan know before I try this If it can actually be done.

Give it a shot. I don't see why not. I'm sure the board will be slippery underneath you with no tracking fins so just make sure you edge. Take some pictures.
Yeah I have tried it, the hard part is keeping the board under control being that it is so narrow and has no fins. Fun to goof around with though. dry it off afterwards or you will have some rusty edges.

I try to ride on a wakeboard behind mine arctic cat.
Make sure that edge doesn't hit you if you crash. That would = a lot of sitches
Go for it... We tried it way back... Like mid eighties when we were kids. Never got it to work well but it was fun. Hell if you could sit or stand on it we probably tried riding it behind the boat, Even tried one of those bikes with the ski for the front wheel for kicks once...

Like Erik said, tough as there is not much buoyancy or surface space and it is real squirrelly under ya.

Buy a ROAM!!! No fins is the way to go.
Im with Harris, the 05's are real cheap now.
My buddy Jason did this about 8 years ago and I towed him. We had to go around 35 but he could jump and turn pretty well. He thought it was dumb so I didn't give it a go.
the 06 roam is basically a snowboard. its wider, but the way the board is made is exactly like a snowboard with a different edge, plastic rather than metal.
Has anyone tried to snowboard on a board?
I would not recommend using snow board bindings in the water. Good way to rip your leg off.

Does a snowboard float?
There was a pic of a guy in a old WBM. It was like 97-98, he was doin a indy grab on a snowboard. I will try to look around and see if I still have it.
Check out www.squaw.com for pics of the pond crossing. Not quite being towed, but you cross 100 or so feet of pond going 30 mph on your snowboard. The good riders can do 180's and stuff. Pretty fun.

We've also ridden the snow on our wakeboards at a local res before. Both starting up and then ollying down into the water and ollying up onto a snow ledge while riding and going for a 30-40 foot ride on stretch of snow.
