BTW, that heelside poked out melon OA 360 was awesome. I thought that was cooler than the 9.

Nice Amber!! I don't see any reason why Amber won't land a 10. She will be the one to do it for sure.

Womens wakeboarding has progressed more in the last 2 years than in the 5 before. If there is nobody to push a sport, it flatlines. 7's,a 9,crow mobes,petes,handle pass kgb's,a 13 year old doing dum dums etc,etc,etc.In 2008 I went to all the stops and the biggest trick was a wrapped kgb, the odd whirly and tootsie roll.Later in the year Moby dick and R2B consistently. And the irony is that, IMO the girls are getting better,a lot better in fact and the prize money is now so low that if you don't win,not podium,win, it;s almost not worth competing. You go from Orlando to Reno and with your flight,hotel,entry fee,etc and you get 2nd you will be a little above breaking even.
Nice if you could earn a living free riding.

Good stuff Amber. I remember 4 years ago when she was just trying to get a 7 on the books. 9's are big, even for guys. The women are progressing fast, for sure. It's great to see.

Interesting perspective Chris. Hopefully things will turn around. Unfortunately girls are still only a small part of the wakeboarding population. Sponsors just aren't getting enough $ behind them.

I agree with this. I think this is exactly where amber is on the womens end of things. She has progressed further, faster than other female rider. Shes got a 9 within a year of a 7. If she stays healthy and keeps pushing it like she is, I dont see why a 10 of the dub is impossible.

I feel bad for participating in the 1080 discussion on this thread.

I was not saying at all that she wouldn't land a 10. Just that a 1080 next year is ambitious. If anyone can do it though, she can.

I don't like these comparisons. Somebody was on here the other day that said Dallas was landing tricks that other girls weren't coming close to. That was just nonsense. Megan Ethell is 13. Look what she's doing. She's learnt about 5 new tricks since the start of the season. It's relative. The more tricks you already have the less you are going to add in a short space of time. Girls anyway. If anybody was blazing such a red hot trail they would be absolutely dominating the sport. Dallas wasn't even doing that.
People would be quite surprised. When last if ever did you see a female throwing 4 or 5 mobes in a pass?

In any event, good to see the girls pushing it and, perhaps more impressive to me than mobes or 9's, upping the style quotient considerably...that video was impressive throughout...

i agree that was probably the most stylish riding Ive seen from girls ever, both nicola and amber. The off axis 3 was beautiful.

Yeah I don't think anyone was doing 1080s in 1989... Though it would be insanely sick to see someone do one on a skurfer bwhahahaha

I don't think a 10 is very likely within the next year, though I would be stoked to be proven wrong and wouldn't consider it impossible. But I think we'll see a bs 7 and heel 9 first. But enough of talking about whats in the future, Lets just be stoked about what just happened :)
