I am huge toyota fan, and I need a bigger truck to pull my new boat. The problem is, I don't see a lot of people posting on here that they use the tundra to tow there boats. I am looking for some feedback from those that have a tundra for towing, and those that may have used one and then switched to a bigger Ford or Chevy. I don't need to be able to do 80 up a hill, but I also don't want a truck that struggles to pull and stop a large boat(B52V). <BR>I am having a harder time deciding on the tow vehicle than I had buying the boat.

Darin, how new of a tundra are you looking at. <BR> <BR>reason i ask is the new 07-08's have great tow power. <BR> <BR>go to toyota.com and you can see what they look like. <BR> <BR>i had a 04 sequoia and it towed my 05 supra 22ssv fine.

currently I am using a 2001 Tundra. it tows my little echelon fine. got about 12-13 mpg towing to Mead from SoCal. it does fine for me. I believe it is rated to 8000 lbs. I dont see how you would have any issues with it.

I use a 2002 Sequoia (same motor as the Tundra) and it tows my Bu 23 LSV pretty well. I towed it from Kansas City to Vegas a couple months ago and it even did OK over the 11,000 foot passes in the Rockies through Colorado. Not as good as a turbo diesel, of course, but that's not what you're looking for I suspect.

I use/used my 2005 Sequoia to pull my X-45 from Boise to Mead (1800 miles roundtrip) and had no problems whatsoever. I also have pulled to and from Seattle many times. I think they are great built trucks.

I love my 2006 Tundra and the towing ability it has. I tow quite a bit with it, and have NO complaints. Towed to Shasta a few months ago, and had no complaints at all. Was able to keep to at least 65 over the grapevine. Passed quite a few other trucks going uphill. If I had my choice, it would probably be a F-350 PSD, but that was not really what I was looking for. Can't beat Toy's for reliability either. Thing hauls butt when you are not towing. A blast to drive anytime.

I Pulled my X-10 from North Carolina to Atlanta just fine with my 2002 Tundra, I WOULD NOT LEAVE THE OVERDRIVE ON though. I noticed the Tundras do have a transmission cooler on them which also helps. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a tundra to pull with.

I had an 03 Sequioa (same engine, although I echo what has been said above, I think that the newer engines are even more powerful), and it did very well except the mileage plummeted when pulling my Tige 24V. Trailer and all weighs about 6K. Plenty of power and handled pretty well.

I have Toyota Sequoia 04 and the boat is Ski Supreme 21 and I am satisfied with it towing ability

I have a 2000 tundra v8 access cab and i'm lookin at a boat around 4400lbs with trailer. Concerned because my truck is 2wd and a little worried about slippery ramps. Any reason for concern?

Jesse, depends on the ramp. I use a 2wd to tow, and have never had any problems. 2wd usually have a higher tow rating also, due to not having the extra wieght of a 4wd

I have a 02 ext cab 2wd and tow my 01 vlx no problems. As for the slippery ramps I have had no trouble I did opt for the limited slip rear end option for this reason. I have pulled out several times and the passenger tire starts to spin for a second and then the others hooks and it pulls right out. I Know my tow rating is 7200 LBS but with 4x4 I believe it drops a little if i remember. <BR> <BR>good Luck

Existing Tundra gets a passing grade (C) <BR> <BR>New Tundra gets a A+... you will be surprised.

My pops works for a Toyota dealership in Sacramento and he has been raving about the new Tundra. I would definitely check it out. Lot of power.

I have an 05 4wd with TRD package and I pull my 24 foot toy hauler with it no problem. Pulls my boat easily too. Its a great truck, I wish they would come out with a diesel. I dont think I would buy another brand of truck.

when the tundra becomes a heavy half diesel, I will buy for the boat pulling and leave the Powerstroke for 5th wheel pulling.
