Ordering a Supra SC and Boatmate trailer.... Color pick.....

5 Attachment(s)
Hey guys
I took a year off with no boat and was a co-pilot last year. After checking out the new SC and the surf system SWELL, I decided to hop back on the horse. I am pretty excited. Here are the colors I am thinking. Most of you know that I am a "once you go black, you never go back" kind of guy. Here is what I am thinking.
I like the new back accent that Supra offers and Boatmate doing the two tone trailer so I am thinking:
All black with a charcoal accent in the back. Black Boatmate trailer with charcoal accented fenders and black 18" wheels......

Do you like the Blacked out SUPRA logo in the second pic or the new SUPRA logo in the first pic???
I had to download the pics of the boat as a PDF. Not sure how to get them to a normal image. Maybe one of you can help me an post it. I am on a MAC right now and not sure how to convert it.

These are the two wheel options I am considering from Boatmate. Both looks sweet and most importantly easy to clean. Love how Boatmate has so many options for wheels now. Would be cool if they create a "build your trailer" page on their website so we could see it... hint hint

MIKEnNC 12-01-2013 3:15 PM

^^^ agreed. Same for me and same gear wheel, cool thing is I run manage a large car stereo and rim shop and I sale a lot of those gear wheels, they r nice and u can get some matching ones for ur truck, would be sick

Shane10p 12-01-2013 3:48 PM

All black , Gear wheels but I would do Bimini supports and bottom tower covers same grey as your accents .

WLF 12-01-2013 3:55 PM

Well since I just made the same decision on my new X Star I have to vote blacked out as well. Sweet boat! I did almost all black on the interior as well...btw

tyler97217 12-01-2013 4:23 PM

Thanks Mason for posting the pics...
Thanks guys for the suggestions... I really like the new SUPRA decals, but I think you guys might be right and I should go with the blacked out decals.... Hmmmm decisions.... I am thinking about making the interior darker as well.... I am going to put the order in tomorrow....

WLF 12-01-2013 4:35 PM

On the XStar they let you go all black on the inside if you want...I wanted a little bling so I added some lime to mine to accent.

tyler97217 12-01-2013 4:52 PM

WLF
That looks great. Might be a little too much for me, but we will see....

downfortheride 12-01-2013 5:10 PM

Can't wait to see it Diggs! You have always produced some good looking boats.

WLF 12-01-2013 5:11 PM

Thanks Tyler! My last boat was a beautiful but little bit boring white and red star...so this time around I wanted something unique, risky, and slightly over the top...If I were going to sell it in a year or two I would go more mainstream, but I'll keep it for 5 years and hopefully 600hrs...so I'm getting what I like and not worrying about it. Choosing colors is so tough, I feel what you are going through as I had to lock in everything last week. I really like what you are doing with almost all black, my fun cars are all murdered out as well...love the look. Good luck in your decision!

fullspeed 12-02-2013 3:54 PM

Diggs, can I ask the reason you are choosing an SC over an SA? Just wondering why. I been wanting a new boat, but it won't happen any time soon for me. I like the larger bow on the SA, but like the look of both.

tyler97217 12-02-2013 4:43 PM

Just ordered it!! I ended up going a bit darker inside.

Fullspeed
Was a tough decision as well but we really dont use the bow much, it was cheaper, latest greatest, little more geared to surf, etc.... Those were the main factors but I really like both of them pretty equal.

Supravol22 12-02-2013 7:44 PM

Awesome!! Any idea on a delivery date?

tyler97217 12-03-2013 6:56 AM

Probably shooting for a February spray date

nelson 12-03-2013 8:07 AM

Can't wait to see it, I ended up jumping off the Malibu train and bought the Black SA from Greg. I really liked the SC but the wife wanted more bow room so we went with the SA. Heading over the pass in a few to finish up the paperwork.

tyler97217 12-03-2013 8:31 AM

Ahhhhh.... eric you are the one that bought that SA. That is a sweet boat. Spent quite a bit of time eyeballing that thing.... Our colors will be pretty similar. Maybe one of these times we will get the Supra's together. Congrats.

nelson 12-03-2013 9:28 AM

Yeah I love black hate taking care of it but everything I own ends up being black. But wife's happy so that's what really matters.

Shane10p 12-03-2013 11:52 AM

Sounds like a Supra weekend at LBC this summer !

J__bird 12-03-2013 12:44 PM

Looks Rad! congrats man

tyler97217 12-03-2013 12:57 PM

We used to have a Supra/Moomba reunion in town. Now that we are getting some more of them around, we can start it up again. Hopefully AWS will do their Boat Buyers Reunion this year also...

MIKEnNC 12-03-2013 5:32 PM

Post some pice Eric. I want to see ur new boat

fullspeed 12-03-2013 6:56 PM

I can't wait to see your boat in person! Tyler, there's a thread on the moomba forum about a PNW Supra/Moomba jam. It's labor day weekend at Prineville Reservoir.

Looks like if you book a campsite now, you can be in. 1/2 the campsites are still available at Prineville Res State Park.

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's get some more Supra's there! I know a few of the local Moomba guys that will be there.

trayson 12-04-2013 8:51 AM

Oh, and I would have went with some sexy black metalflake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I actually loved the deep lip of the other wheels. But regardless, it's gonna look sick.

BenHolloway 12-04-2013 8:57 AM

If you guys make it to Prineville let me know, were there all the time...

MCObray 12-04-2013 9:17 AM

Man, that boat is going to look so dreamy on the water. Excited for you man. Congrats and let the wait begin!

tyler97217 12-04-2013 9:36 AM

Trayson
Damn..... always busy on Labor Day weekend... Wish we could have picked a better weekend...
Yeah the metal flake was more so I had to cut somewhere...
The wheels are really not that deep dish. That was just the offset on that picture. It would be similar to the others. I really like that wheel too though.

tn_rider 12-04-2013 9:47 AM

I love everything about the boat. IMO the ONLY thing Id do different are the wheels. That boat is "thick". A deeper wheel on the trailer will fit it better IMO.

tyler97217 12-04-2013 10:27 AM

Chase
When you say deeper.... You mean a deeper dish/offsett? I think we are kind of bound to the trailer. They told me the dish on the one above that is all black will not be that deep. It is just an image and they need to go to the offset of the trailer or it won't fit under the fender. Other objective here is something easy to clean. Some of the other black wheels have so many grooves and holes that they are a pain to wipe down. We are fanatics about wiping down and being clean after we pull it out each time... This is one of the reason I came up with these wheels....
Here are some of the other options.... http://www.boatmateparts.com/product...f6513ec76c82ee

tn_rider 12-04-2013 10:35 AM

Yes, the deeper dish is what I was talking about. I think it will look better. However, either will be sick.

tn_rider 12-04-2013 10:37 AM

The Moto metal 962 on their site is what is opt for. But that's just me.

tn_rider 12-04-2013 10:38 AM

The 725 MB is like a mixture of both. That would be a tough choice for me as well.

tyler97217 12-04-2013 10:41 AM

The 725 will be to tough to clean. Out of the question. The 962 will not be as deep as it looks in the pic. It will be the same as all the others once the offset is adjusted...
Looks like we are on the same page though cause those are all of my favorite wheels too!

lionel 12-04-2013 8:51 PM

I like the wheels you picked. I like the 713's but I don't think they will go with your boat. Grant and I get first party rights :)

tyler97217 12-05-2013 8:57 AM

Lionel -
Who are you even???? You have disappeared from the boating world.... When are you going to pay a visit back on the water and bring that black surf machine?
See you at the boat show next month.

I'm having those Gear wheels put on my Duramax tomorrow. Man I would love to match the rim's on my supra trailer to the truck.

DatTexasBoy 12-05-2013 2:54 PM

What motor?

J__bird 12-05-2013 6:38 PM

450 all day.

tyler97217 12-05-2013 6:39 PM

I am doing the 350... We have no elevation here and have chatted with other folks and they have been fine with it also.

MCObray 12-05-2013 8:41 PM

Hey Ty, is Swell an option or standard on these SA/SC models now? 350 should be plenty suffice for what you're wanting to do. What plans do you got for ballast?

tyler97217 12-05-2013 9:04 PM

Swell is an option but the dealer was adding for free on all boats ordered at evening with the stars. I would imagine that will be boat show marketing also???
I ordered the liquid lead ballast. That adds plug and play bags plumbed over factory hard tanks. Not sure on configuration till we play with it. I am sure there will be some experimenting.

lionel 12-05-2013 10:13 PM

Wrenchin' and water tests don't count? You let me know when you're out there and I'll make it happen. Boat show is packed this year. Should be a good one!

tyler97217 12-06-2013 6:35 AM

You stocking a cooler of beer for us in a boat?

lionel 12-06-2013 9:32 AM

Had a stocked cooler last year. We can do it again! Let me know what days

downfortheride 12-07-2013 11:29 AM

Can't wait to see that new boat Diggs. Welcome back!

wolfe_drew 12-07-2013 3:40 PM

Congrats!

Tyler, I sat in a SC at Atlanta Marine today that was only different in that the accent was silver flake. Looked incredible in person. If it had the SWELL on it, I'd have cut a check on the spot. The Suprafreak SC will be in town in a few days and we plan to demo it.

Supravol22 12-08-2013 1:11 PM

SUPRAFREAKS!!! Glad y'all are getting to go out with Matt and Jon, they're awesome!

04outback 12-20-2013 1:33 PM

YOu need my NEW zip code to plan the USHIP.com Shipment in late Sept???

tyler97217 12-20-2013 1:40 PM

Brad
We have a good driver and only 2 million miles on his F350 now and 2 motors!!

04outback 12-20-2013 2:08 PM

Heck. that already used motor from oct 2011 trip across country has to have another million on it.
We better plan ahead and schedule his rebuild. At least pdx to Baton Rouge is a few miles closer!

tyler97217 02-25-2014 9:35 AM

Just got word that my new SC should arrive in Portland on Friday. Hopefully ready by next week and then stereo install.... I changed up the colors a bit and did all black with a black metal flake in the back. All black trailer. So it should look pretty much all black.... Pretty excited to get out in this bad boy and give some updates on SWELL....

04outback 02-25-2014 11:53 AM

Anxious to see pics!!

jonblarc7 02-25-2014 12:44 PM

No build pic to hold us over??????

tyler97217 02-25-2014 1:28 PM

Blair- I have not gotten any either.... I did not bug them for any. You really can't see the black flake option in the colorizer either. This is kind of like when you don't know the sex of your child and it just comes out and you find out. It is going to show up as a surprise for me...... Will have to see if they have any pics from the factory, but if so might have to wait and see them so I can still have the shock factor....

polarbill 02-25-2014 2:27 PM

I bet you are so frigging excited you motor boating SOB.

tyler97217 02-25-2014 2:33 PM
