How long should a battery last when you're sitting around just running the CD player? My battery almost died yesterday at the lake after running the CD player for around an hour or so. Do most run two batteries? Is it time for a new battery?
Pat" Most Batterys List "on the top" The Amp Hr's of the Battery Example A Blue top Optima say's 55 amp Hrs. That means it will provide 12 volts for 55 hrs, Depending on the amount of Amp's you are drawing or pulling that Hr # will get Higher or lower depending what your powering. if your running your CD player by itself its cong to draw or pull much lower Amps than a CD player & Amps, Lights ect. Also If you add up your Batterys you can doubble the run time. Example 2 Blue top Optima's = 110 Amp Hrs There are some larger Marine Batteries that are 220 Amp hrs each
More info at
www.svtsupercharged.com/gallery

If you're gonna sit around and listen to the stereo very much, then yeah, you need to get a second battery (learned this the hard way). I would get a new battery if it died after 1 hour - especially since Summer is just getting started. I picked one up last week at Costco for $43.00. They have Optima blue tops there too, but they're $140.00 each.
