How long will my truck last?

I have an 03 dodge 2500 4X4 with a Cummins. It has 200K+ miles and has been maintained well. It still runs great and is reliable. My question is how long can I expect it to last? It's been a pavement princess (never off road) and I've always babied it.

I think this question would be better suited for a cummins forum. I dont know typical range for these trucks, Im a Powerstroke guy, but I would guess you could keep her running for another 100-200k.... Tranny will likely need to be replaced soon. But again, Im a powerstroke guy, I have no experience with cummins.

I have no experience with the Dodges personally. However my father in law has an 01 with over 279k and it's running strong. It had a new transmission by the previous owner at 100k and it was built tough. He also upgraded the injectors at 125k. He does standard maintenance and the worst thing about the rig (including interior) is the paint peeling on the roof and hood.

I would say the front end needs to be replaced soon, like ball joints, bushings etc. That engine is designed to go a million miles. However, the common problem with dodges is they front end components wear out. If you want to replace the ball joints and NEVER have to do it again, look up thecarlisuspension.com. They have practically bullet proof ball joints. If everything else is mechanically sound, that truck will last forever. It all depends on how you take care of it.

The engine will last 750K+ if she really is a highway warrior. The chassis is different. The front end will go every 150-200k and the tranny is basically the same. If you are up north, the body won't last, down south away from salt, you'll get a LONG time out of it. I would say 100K more is reasonable for you. Beyond that you'll get tired of fixing it
