Linking boats

I know this has been discussed in the past but I can not seem to find a direct answer. I have a clarion HU that has in IPOD plug. I would prefer to have a splitter (IPOD plug) come off of the IPOD and go into my boat then Y off to go to another boat so I can control the IPOD from the stereo controls at the back of the boat. Is this possible? Others have told me to use the ear phone jack off of the IPOD and split it that way, but then I can not control the IPOD at the back of the boat through the stereo remote control.

Maybe I need to have the IPOD plug go into my boat and an AUX plug go to other boats? We are linking two, maybe three boats at most. It seems that when I have the IPOD plugged into the IPOD cable for my HU, there is not enough room to plug and extra AUX wire to go to other boats (where the ear phone jack plug is). I am using a IPOD Nano (not the newest real small one).

Maybe, does my HU have an AUX Out that could link to other boats? Boat is about an hour away in storage so I can't walk into the garage to check it.

what model is your clarion?

To accomplish everything you want the only way is to have an Aux out on your HU or other device such as a WS420 or HSE RVC.

@Robert - I am not sure what model the Clarion is, it came in a 2009 Tige, the boat is in storage across town, I can't check.

@Hate - I do have a WS420, but I am unfamiliar with the connections it offers. So, I would just hook my Ipod up as usual to my HU and then run RCA wires from my AUX output into a Y-cable to gain two outputs, then to the other two boats and into their input? That makes sense to me if I am thinking of it correctly.

Yes Dave that would work but you can use the one on the back of the WS420 more easily. Right on the back there is an 3.5 AUX out which you can split the signal at. I use a male into two female 3.5 jack then just run 3.5 cable to the boats.

If you look at the right side if the EQ you'll notice the output. They call it boat link.

I use this adapter http://www.firefold.com/2-35-mm-Ster...-P722C104.aspx

and these cables http://www.firefold.com/50-Foot-35-m...-P889C102.aspx
